1. I'd hardly call Ryan austerity driven since his plan doesn't balance the budget for almost 30 years.
Nowadays, a budget that balances in years IS susterity. Sad, isn't it?
Karen, is that you in the chaise lounge next to Billy Ray?

I'm guessing Iraq/Afgan was a walk in the park.

Us poor Iraq and Afghanistan didn't have the opportunity to get high during our war as much Nam vets did in theirs.

Prof
My shirt was white with checkerboard. Saw a pretty accurate rundown of the jobs a couple of pages back.
The color means most everything, it denotes your primary responsibility. White is safety/QA related. Yellow is a handler. Blue is chains and chocks. Green is maintenance. A vertical stripe on the front/back denotes airwing.
So my shirt was white( QA) with a vertical stripe(squadron) with a checkerboard(final check qualified). All shops had final check people and their shirt looked much like mine. The difference was at the bottom of the stripe mine was stenciled QA and theirs was stenciled with the shop designation.(PP for Power Plants, IWT for Intergrated Weapons Team which was my shop,etc...) i was an AQ1 assigned to QA.
No vertical stripe meant you were ship's company. They still wore green, white, blue, red, whatever shirts with their shop designator stenciled on them.

What does it mean when the ABH wears an earring in the right ear?

It means he's pitching and an Army guy is catching.
GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!

We had to keep the jerseys as simple as we could Prof. After all, we weren't smart enough to go one more door down to the Air Force recruiting office.

Black with a white stripe means you're a skunk.
A yellow checkerboard looks like the Maryland flag and means you like crabs.
Orange and white checkerboard with abundant tobacco spit stains means you're a Tennessee fan.

Prof, you are Army aren't you. (A new acronym!...P,yaaay)
White shirt, black stripe. Yellow shirt, no stripe or checkerboard. (only ships company, and ships company ain't doing a final check of MY airplane). Orange is not allowed in the Navy. Gays, thieves, murderer and rude flatulence, but no orange. We must maintain some modicum of morality.

Burnt orange is beautiful, especially combined with NAVY blue.
Creamsicle orange is not beautiful. In fact, it's just plain wrong.

Crimson. A color of kings and champions throughout history.
Orange has crimson. It's just watered down with too much yellow.

Crimson reminds me of my ex wifes maxi pad on top of the bathroom garbage can 24 hours dried.

I used to think that "maxi" denoted the size of the orifice that used it.

Do not ever say that orange has crimson in it. That is an insult.
Crimson is okay for Bammers and godless, freedom-hating commies.
