Compared to the Tin Cans like a destroyer or frigate, yes. In normal seas a person won’t feel it. But there is a good bit of movement. Do YouTube and watch some of the corrections made by the flight control surfaces, especially when close in to the carrier deck. It’s amazing to see what happens to trap a 3 wire.

This is a video of the USS Kitty Hawk in a typhoon. It doesn’t really prove anything, other than those waves that were big enough to roll over the flight deck of a carrier must have been monsters. (As an aside, GBJ, note the plastic bug in the foreground.)

I rode the Coral Sea back across the Atlantic on the tail of Hugo in 89... we were going from the Med to Halifax, so we were well north but still had consistent 20+ footers and blue water over the bow. That was no fun.

As a Sea Cadet, I spent two weeks at sea on a 210’ Coast Guard cutter. Just before I came aboard, they had gone through heavy seas. The crew told me even the captain and CPO’s puked their brains out during that storm. My first job was to clean black heel marks off the bulkhead. I’m glad I wasn’t there the week before.

This shows the difference between a destroyer and an aircraft carrier in choppy waters. Advantage aircraft carriers:

And since this is purportedly a Tennessee football thread, here’s scouting video of Bama’s QB Vitogav... Tavog... Bama’s QB as he trains for his upcoming game against the Vols:

Incorrect. Bama will be more brutal to Auburn than to Tennessee. Whereas y'all will play the Kurt Sloan to Tong Po, we will play the Mylee.

I can't get mad at that, jags. And I always get wistful when I see your WORTH. EVERY. CENT. 11 fking years of buying on the cheap literally bottomed our program out.

Maybe the law of averages will favor us with Pruitt. Time will tell.

TSIO used to be one of the best weeks of the whole college football season. It when the rest of us got to watch Bama fans and Vol fans spiritedly call each other rednecks and trailer trash. Not much trash talking these days; one side is demoralized and the other side is bored.

Vol fans are giddy after Saturday. The demoralized fanbase is the one with a hot-seat coach who was inexplicably given a 50 mil contract with a killer buyout.

I dunno ‘Tick... it’s always been a streak rivalry. We’ve just made the most of this streak. Pruitt is a good coach... not too sure he was ready for a gig with UT’s profile, but a good coach.

I still can’t believe y’all fired Philip. He has volunteered his entire life to Rocky Top.

True. After last Saturday, we have been reduced to just hoping for a win against Liberty. We’re putting a lot of eggs in that basket.
