Presumably there would then be a free for all to join either the Big 12 or Big Ten for 3 remaining spots.
What about us? Don't leave us with UConn!

I'm standing by my "ND and PSU going to the ACC" call from last week.

At this point I don't see any reason to leave the ACC except to escape it's terrible leadership. Hell, it's got to be easier just to fire The Swoff, and bring in someone competent from outside the old-guard ACC. The ACC's newest member just kicked Florida's ass in a BCS bowl, and UL, Cuse and Pitt are damn fine basketball programs.
U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.

ATM, I heard that rumor yesterday. Delaney was in CH this week for a GAA meeting.
I proudly took AFAM 040 at Carolina.

I love that the announcers are concerned for Brady's health when he ninja kicks Raven defenders as he takes a slide

I still feel that the Big 12 is on shaky ground, especiallly when Texas realizes they could make more money hitching their wagon to the SEC or PAC 12. The success of A&M in the SEC has diluted the projected tv ratings of the Longhorn Network.

Agreed, Texas will be in the SEC short order, one way or another.sardis wrote:I still feel that the Big 12 is on shaky ground, especiallly when Texas realizes they could make more money hitching their wagon to the SEC or PAC 12. Obviously, you two are dumbasses. The SEC has no need for Texas, and the Big 12 is on solid groundnd with the grant of television rights in place. The ACC is in deep shit.

for anyone who needs an explanation as to why Te'o made up a fake dying girlfriend, please look at Ray Lewis' post game antics after tonight's Raven victory

made me want to puke
I swear I have no idea what the definition of helmet to helmet is. when pitna got laid out after back to back baltimore penalties for contact a lot less then what happened to pitna. then throw in the ridley hit again helmet to helmet although I think ridley initiated it--that was the game play though that hit. welker and others started hearing footsteps

i was surprised at the flags B'More received for their hits, especially the one where the safety & DB converged on Hernandez.
Then I was doubly surprised when there was no flag for the Ridley hit.
Pitna's too.
Very inconsistent.

When the owner of the television rights of both leagues are the same person then anything can happen especially if one league is failing ratings wise.DooKSucks wrote:Obviously, you two are dumbasses. Notre Dame and Texas are the two teams that can add to each team's SEC coffers. My guess is that they will add Texas and not ND. They may plug in another program like maybe Ok or FSU to make it even.
If PAC 12 can't get Texas, then they don't expand.

Re: College Football
At this point the marginal dollars that are available for the SEC are no longer coming from adding great football matchups. The networks know that the markets are there, that they are deep, desirable, and there is a large inventory.
The next pool of money is a cable network. To make more money in cable the SEC needs to do a couple things, add schools that expand the number of states that are in market, and add desirable network inventory. That means schools in new states and hoops.

Harbowl I. Good shit.
Helmet to helmet and shoulder to helmet hits are subjective when it gets close to the line. NE was definitely on the favorable side of that line tonight. Still, Baltimore's D did enough to scare the NE receivers. Knocking a dude out cold doesn't hurt that message, either.
