Andrews deserves whatever little money her videographer has (which is probably close to zero). Suing Marriotti is a classic "deep pockets" play. Hate it. Otherwise, it's nothing. I now can't stand her.

Marriott had some guilt. Confirming that a guest was staying there, giving out room numbers, and actually fulfilling a request to put the dude in an adjoining room.

Further, the hotel knew that peephole "reversers" were a thing but elected to not put a slide cover over them (to be fair, most midrange hotels do not).

Now, I don't know how much those lapses of security (and common sense) should cost Marriott, but it should be well short of $75mm

Oh, I did not know about the adjoining room thing. I guess I should read up more about this...but I kinda don't give that much of a shit, so I've been making my opinion largely by only reading headlines and a paragraph or two. I was getting my "regular human" thing on.

I guess there is some merit to her suit.

I suppose. The thing is, I believe you have to show some sorta tangible harm to get a major money windfall (maybe one of the lawyers here can chime in). Some good did come from this. They are silly funny about giving out room into now and have tightened up the security lapses.

calling from inside the hotel and having them connect directly to the room so you could see the room number was smart on the peeping toms part and not necessarily maliciously negligent on the marriots part.

are hotel chains supposed to connect all incoming phone calls or do you as a customer tell the hotel chain I don't want any phone calls. I dont think a hotel can confirm or deny your staying in that hotel-but the peeing tom calling tricked them as he was already in the hotel I though and just switched rooms after he found out where she was

No doubt. Wonder if he had a profit motive?

Pretty sure he had a lunatic stalker motive.

No doubt. But those two motives aren't mutually exclusive.

And stalker dude has been in prison for almost two years already?

I know secretly taping a girl naked doesn't carry that penalty everywhere. There was a guy in this area who owned a tanning salon and got caught settng up secret cameras. He never served time iirc.
