I think because the rosters are so small and each player so critical that the coaches view it as taboo to continue recruiting committed players in hoops. They recognize that it's risky to have kids flip. Another reason is the earlier signing period, hoops commits don't have to all wait around to Feb to sign.

that has to be maddening for coaches. I read that UK has 20 commits right now but they expect to lose 4 or 5 of them by the signing period. That just seems strange. Of course what may be more strange is that UK has 20 good commits at this point.

Apparently Te'o said he met her at a Stanford game and that he had met her parents in Hawaii?

Hmmm....

The 'hmmm' is, if true, the "I was duped" story put out by him and ND is even harder to swallow.

How could it have been a dupe? Didn't he claim (or at least not deny multiple stories to this effect) that he had met her after a game at Stanford? Or was the girl he allegedly met after that game also a plant?

Brent Mussberger probably thinks he did.

The kid is gay. Manti is 100% a drag queen name. I bet if I went down to the Village right now there would be some 6'4", platinum beehive wig wearing tranny in 8 inch platforms hosting a karoke night with the same moniker.

Joseph Smith would be so dissappointed. His magic underwear would be in a bunch.

eCat, if you had watched the ND - Michigan State broadcast you'd have been beaten in the head with the story, all the ND fans in attendance were wearing Leys (sp?) in tribute to Manti's dead grandma & girlfriend

that inspirational performance is what put him in the Heismann race and he soaked it all in

seriously, if I'm him I deny it, STFU, let america pay attention to Lance Armstrong for the next week, go to the NFL combine, stay in denial then keep S'ingTFU

he's a retard if he takes an interview
