I found that model of Poulan on facebook for $375. Probably get it for $300 and in 20 minutes you have the worlds most dangerous go kart

I liked when the guy in the video said "I'm going to bend up the access panel so I can drill straight thru the crankshaft, otherwise I'd have to drill from an angle, and who wants to drill from an angle?"

I also like when he pops a wheelie and then nods at the camera...

this summer I'll get around to doing it and give you guys an update on it.
I'd love to see my neighbors reaction when I go tear assing around the neighborhood on a 20mph POS mower
"I'll be glad when that son of a bitch moves!"

1) you can pop a wheelie on a front end mower due to the hydrostatic transmission's almost instant acceleration and the weight distribution of the motor and driver being towards the back.
2) there were folks near Pikeville (small town between Goldsboro and Wilson) who did lawnmower pulls with a small weight transfer sled just like tractor pulls...I bet these guys know all about that stuff

Heh. I was raised 5-6 miles away off of Old Grantham Road.
Dad's friend owned that place for twenty years and made a damn mint, but I didn't hang out in that hell hole. It's a gold mine though.

I wasn't looking for a mower to hotrod but a future replacement motor for the zero turn. I thought I found one but it sold before I could get to it, but what I did find was a guy that had all this land next to the reserves base out near Kings Island - and he was selling a commercial walk behind John Deere that had been sitting out in the elements for years for $50 - basically asking someone to come haul it away. Its a heavy duty thing with a Kawasaki engine.
I'm going to try to get it going and if I do, then I'll restore it. I'm thinking about trying my hand at a "will it start" video for youtube.
the dude who does plumbing for us is a drag racer and somewhat of a character. He told me once he had to quit racing at Busco Beach because he was too old to have to whip every motherfucker's ass he just dusted on the strip because all they did there was race and fight.

We have a monkey bar which used to be cool. Now it's a hipster place with no monkeys. How can you call it The Monkey Bar with no monkeys? It sucks.

In fairness, that place is right in his back yard, I'd be surprised if he didn't know the guy...
I knew/know the previous owner, not the new ownership group.
The previous owner sold the place for $6m+ if memory serves, and I think he purchased everything for a damn pittance. He had already done well with an auto scrap / junkyard business, some mini storage facilities and rental properties, but he made a killing (literally and figuratively) with Busco Beach. I'm sure he didn't report half of what he took in since it was nearly all cash.
