Great talent, fractured soul. Sad to see her go. Not unexpected, but still.

(tracking off, but still...)

Never liked her act. Everyone knew this was going to happen. She was a train wreck. Welcome to Hollywood! What's your dream?

Dr. John, The Dead (or whatever the members that show up decide to call themselves), John Prine, and Emmylou Harris and others confirmed for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass this year already.

Teasers of the bands so far signed was posted here http://www.strictlybluegrass.com/

The answers to other earlier medley already listed. Looks like another great year.

I liked Winehouse's voice.

Never cared for the beehive skunk look she had going though

but now they'll hafta back up a real 50 years old black woman, instead of a 24 years old white girl who could pull off the sound.

Seriously, Amy had an effortless, soulful voice that was only seems to come around every so often. The thing was, she was a very good writer too, so that really set her apart.

okay, so who among us was a kid who grew up in the 1970s and watched this on Saturday Morning???

bonus points for you if you grew up in the Atlanta area and remember the Krofft theme park at what is now, the CNN Center...

remember those days, we ate sugared everything (no artificial sweeteners) but somehow, we weren't all obese because we actually went outside to play for 9 hours a day? (Our parents weren't petrified that we were going to kidnapped and molested.) No ride in the car to sit at a friends house for a "play date."

...nostalga...

I don't remember that one, at all. But I do remember Sid and Marty Kroft shows, in general...like Big Foot and Wildboy, Sigmund the Sea Monster, the one with Jim Nabors and Ruth Buzzy as space travelers (or aliens), or something. A bunch of live action shows that functioned like cartoons.

Terrible first set but the 2nd set was worth the trip, even though I was drug-free. lots of Pigpen songs including a viola lee split into thirds
