Well...I live in Brooklyn. I am also wearing a beard this month, just for the fuck of it. So, there is that.

Speaking of my beloved hipster Brooklyn, I keep meaning to hit up Smorgasburg to try out the ramen burger (burger with a ramen noodle "bun")...

The guy in the video is an engineer in Huntsville. Works with the space program. And he went to Bama.

It doesn't sound that different from backing a trailer up, except you can go really slow in a car or truck and stop as needed. You can't do that on a bike.

I think the key would be a wide open space and hold the handle bars straight, get going (without turning either way), get to speed, and try to adjust to the flip.

Or trying patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time before you get on the bike.

I'm not totally sure, but it appears that just getting the momentum going via the pedal means you start off needing to compensate with the front wheel ever-so-slightly turned. I never really thought about it, but looking at the video shows that people slightly turn the wheel away from their pedaling side, to compensate for the initial pedal. Most people fell because the wheel kept turning to the pedal side. So, holding the bars straight is probably not the right course...turning slightly into the pedaling side seems to be the first step.

Just like backing a trailer, it's counterintuitive to turn away from the way you want to turn.

Yes, but in an open area, and holding the handle bars are still as possible, you aren't wanting to turn anywhere.

Most of the people are starting slowly and many are in a tight area (like the guy in the stage). I have no idea in large open area and holding the bars steady would work, but I would love to try.

I ride a bike. I can start off on a flat, paved atea without really moving the handle bars much. The question is, would an opposite "micro" movement mess you up and make you fall?

Home rows, AA. Home rows.

Good question. I think even a micro movement will give you enough of a shock to your internal gyroscope that you may try to "correct" it by adjusting the wheel more...in the wrong direction. I really want to try this out. I wonder if it would really take me 8 mos to master.
