And yes, you'd probably would be shocked.
That isn't what hack was referring to.

The cut in the payroll tax was dumb. Cutting FICA taxes when he program is going bankrupt was and is dumb unless the program was radically changed on a structural level which it wasn't and probably never will be because nobody has the balls other than W to push for it.

I just it amusing as hell for the dems to be touting a two month tax cut as some great achievement. If two months is good then make it fucking permanent for fucks sake.

All this proves is what I've said before: d's are much better pols than r's.

The Senate arrived at a two-month bill because McConnell miscalculated his own extension bill's popularity with his fellow Senate Rs and saw it shot down. He was happy to finally get the two months (high five!)...and happy to get home for Christmas.

And now he's bitching at the House Rs to get with the 2-month program so he can stay home for Christmas..

Usually when somebody realizes they have a "kick me hard" sign on their back, they remove it immediately. Boehner knowingly wore his "kick me hard" sign on his back for a whole week, with everybody obliging the invitation, before he finally realized it is not particularly attractive. He finally removed it tonight:

Please note this is from Fox news, not the 9:1 media.

I didn't know that Chris Hitchens was ethnically Jewish. And neither did he until he was 38:

If Romney wins the nomination I might take that bet.

I saw a great cartoon of Romney as a child, sitting in Santa's lap, asking "What do you WANT me to ask for?"

Time magazine, December 1980....

For weeks before the presidential election, the gurus of public opinion polling were nearly unanimous in their findings. In survey after survey, they agreed that the coming choice between President Jimmy Carter and Challenger Ronald Reagan was "too close to call." A few points at most, they said, separated the two major contenders.

But when the votes were counted, the former California Governor had defeated Carter by a margin of 51% to 41% in the popular vote—a rout for a U.S. presidential race.

So who's the next Reagan? Is it Newt or Romney?

Nice twist of he knife. Sad but true.

It's looking more and more like Romney will win it. The Establishment has already anointed him, and they usually get their way. Romney will follow in the footsteps of other great mushy middle-of-the-road candidates like McCain, Bush Sr., Dole and Rockefeller.

Newt and Perry won't even be on the ballot in Virginia. Couldn't manage 10,000 signatures
