My post wasn't a jab at ya Prof...it was actually a jab at the classifications many use for skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor and to that, "working class".

You can't be a skilled laborer without a 4 year degree career field, but that doesn't mean you are a skilled laborer. It also doesn't mean you are worth a shit at what you're doing.

Ergo a farmer can not be a skilled laborer. How many have not only the ability to plant but the fortitude to work land? I wonder if the POTUS is considered a skilled laborer. We ain't had one of those who were worth a shit in a while.

Can we all agree that Hack is disgusted by unemployed/poor people and generally pissed off at people who don't earn much money?

I think Hack is just out of touch with reality. Old people just don't get it sometimes.

As for my grandkids, I don't have any yet. But I can only hope that, like myself and my kids, they will be raised to believe that they must work for everything they want in life. I'm not sure how that got to be such a controversial notion.

And, if they fall on hard times and need a helping hand, I hope that they will take it as a last resort, begrudgingly, because they know that they have no other choice. I hope they have a plan to make it as temporary as possible. And I will be glad if, as a country, we can still afford to have assistance programs to help people in those circumstances.

I also hope that by then, we will have gotten past the sort of have knee-jerk animosity towards people who expect them to use it as a hand-up and not a hand-out. Because I don't want my grandkids to ever become the kind of people who feel like they're entitled to sit back and live off of someone else's hard work.

I know, I know...unfathomable concepts, huh?
