I'm fluent in Spanish and conversational in French and Italian. And I can stumble through Portuguese, Catalan, and Romanian.

What's funny is people tell me I speak Spanish and Italian with a Canadian accent. Kinda funny.

What I love in life is going to France, Italty, Spain (whatever) and listening to the waitstaff talking shit about me or another patron and then busting them on it. They so except Americans to not know the language. Many free meals have been gotten.

Oh, and I speak a bit of Gaelic, German and Russian. Would love to learn some Japanese or one of the Chinese dialects.

Happens all the time. Hell, I had to stop mid stream off the front porch just this morning because my neighbour across the street was getting her paper. Not sure if she saw me though.
