The blog is at goatpen.net

Currently no link from here back to there but that will change. SO who else should be our authors/wants to be an author?

yes, we like it. the only downside is apparently the only way to go back to watching regular TV is to unplug the Roku. so you have to get up, which can suck sometimes

I don't have one , I have the seagate Theater box, which I love.

I'd wait on the Roku for a bit because they are about to ad HBO Go.

I will probably buy one just for that unless something I already own offers it in a software upgrade

I haven't really looked into it but I assumed that HBO Go would just become available on my current Roku box.

I was assuming that if I had my directv dvr plugged into 1 HDMI port, and a Roku plugged into a second HDMI port, that I could just switch the TV between HDMI1 and HDMI2 to watch whatever, without unplugging anything. Seems that would work?

Also, if you're surfing the web while watching on Roku, or if someone else is watching Netflix thru a BluRay player, or both...are there any throughput issues?

This is some bullshit. At first I thought my mucking about with the site over the past couple days was slowing us down and Id have to scrap my changes, but it turns out our webhost is putting the clamps on our speeds.

I wonder if its all those spambots eating up our bandwidth?

We're at about a record for monthly bandwidth I think with 11 days left.

I haven't noticed an increase in our posting over any other time

but of course I only pay attention to the Goat Pen, not the something forum and the others.

New blog/home page is basically finished. I think I have most folks set as contributors. Don't post any lame content, if you do I'll comment about how much of a dumbfuck you are....or something.

As a guideline, don't post what could be a simple message board post on the blog. Its more for articles/ long winded sass I think.

I can't wait for Crow to drop by , tell everyone how comically bad this is and then demand to know why he can't write a blog entry

The site seems back to normal now, and I looked at the throttling chart and it seems to be very low over the past 8 hours or so, so Im going to officially chalk up the slow speeds over the past day or so to our host cutting our bandwidth, and rule out the changes i made to the site.
