Go to 8 teams. I've always said it, but the money is too good at the other bowls to do it.

According to this process and committee, an 8 team playoff would not include Big 12 champion Kansas State, but would include 5 SEC teams...I don't think even that would fly for a lot of the country.

It will be 8 teams eventually, which is what it should be. The main problem that is going to arise is that you're going to have a minimum of 4 SEC teams every year and a team that won an earlier matchup in conference play will lose to that same team in the playoff. Of course, that happened last year under the current format. That rarely happens in the basketball tourny (Carolina has never played Dook in the NCAA tourny, for example, much less in the Finals), but the hoops tourny is so established at this point that nobody questions the legitimacy of a tourny win (even one as tainted as Dook's vs. Maryland in the FF in the early aughts) even if the tourny loser had beaten that same team twice in the regular season...

I can't imagine K-State not making it. Makes no sense. Sorry LSU (I would sacrifice Florida, too, personally).

Personally I think Florida is the most accomplished team in the country (beyond I guess Notre Dame's accomplishment of being "undefeated")

They beat a lot of really good with only one close loss to another very good team. I dont think anyone else has the number of victories against current top ranked teams that they do.

So, you're saying their SOS is higher than all those above them in the rankings? I never did check.

Their SOS is probably extremely high. In addition to the SEC east schedule, their west teams were A&M and LSU, plus they played FSU. The only team I can think of that definitely played a tougher schedule this year is Mizzou who played Alabama and A&M in addition to Florida (who can't play themselves)

Florida never really looked pretty but for once I have to agree. It was a surprising year though and makes the future look great.

Ole Miss had a pretty strong SOS this season...at Alabama, at LSU, at Georgia, A&M, Texas...

Old Miss also had a pretty strong SASS this season, just like every season...

Of 12 coaching changes in the BCS automatic qualifying conferences the past year, Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin was the only coach of color to be hired. African-Americans Curtis Johnson (Tulane) and Garrick McGee (UAB) and Pacific Islander Norm Chow (Hawaii) were other coaches of color hired in the Bowl Subdivision.
Texas A&M, even though it hired Sumlin, was the only FBS school to receive an F because it did not participate in the study.
We'll try to improve on that "F"
