We have enjoyed Fess Parker wines for some time now, and recently went to a wine dinner here hosted by the local shop with reps from Fess Parker pouring their wares. Got to meet Fess's grandson, told him we wanted to visit their winery (and others in the So Cal wine region), he said give him a call and he would hook us up, so I think that's going to be our next vacation. I've been to Napa and Sonoma (and the underrated Santa Cruz) regions many times (used to live in SF and have taken a few trips back since then) but the never Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, etc. wine regions, looking forward to it...
Did you sing the Dan'l Boone theme song?

back from a weekend vacation in Northern Michigan

I'd move there if it were possible. I love that part of the country

the curse of living in Ohio is you vacation somewhere else - usually 6 hours or more away

I thought everyone from Ohio moved to the South Carolina coast? It's the Rust Belt's waiting room for the after life, much like Florida is for New Yorkers...

People that live in Cumberland during the summer call it the Ohio navy.

All these Ohio people bring their boats down.

And Gatlinburg is a suburb of Ohio

fwiw, I'm leaving for Prague on Saturday for a 8 days. The first 4 are work, then I'm taking another 3. There is a day of travel to get back home. Not sure if I will travel while I am there or just stay in the city. I am looking forward to it.

Watch the movie Hostel before you go. Gives you some ideas of places to visit.

Since I'm arriving around 9am, I'm going to tackle public transportation right off the bat, buy a day pass , take the bus to the tram and the tram into old town. I could uber it but I want to jump in the mix

They like Americans over there (or did). Second most pro-American place I’ve been (Tokyo was #1).

I went ahead and bought a 72 hour rail pass. It took using it once to figure it out, now I'm very comfortable with it.

so far everyone is cool and their English is exceptional, at least in the younger people. In many of the cases I don't even notice an accent.

They are very gracious with me in my attempts to butcher their language

Had goulash yesterday with bacon dumplings. It was what I had hoped for. I'm going to do a taste of Prague tour Friday with 8 other people.

My hotel has a tesco next to it so I'm able to buy fresh fruit and since I am not a coffee drinker, I can keep my room stocked with coke zero

I'll get up early and do the typical tourist stuff one day to beat the crowds.

Flight over I had a seat to myself, my checked bag weighed exactly 50 pounds - I'm tempting fate , its been easy so far.

I'll get hit by a tram and then get pick pocketed while I"m laying in the street today

We've always shown you the same courtesy in here when it comes to our language, too...
