Yep. I missed most of the game, but there has to be some reason why the coaches feel he is the best man for the job. Alex Smith, meet Drew Bledsoe.

UK is very close to welcoming a new coach to Lexington. The job has not yet been offered to anyone, but I believe that could happen very soon. At this point the search has centered around 4 candidates. Three of those candidates are:

Mark Stoops: Florida State (DC)

Mike MacIntyre: San Jose St Head Coach

Sonny Dykes: Louisiana Tech Head Coach

There is a 4th candidate that I assume is Gary Andersen of Utah State,

the smart money is on MacIntyre

Impossible. He didn't start his first game against the Colts. There history in Indy has seen first start backups kill them.

Looks like Stoops moved to the top of the list for the UK coaching search as of this morning.

Butch Jones was offered , demanded a non negotiable no buyout clause and UK balked

MacIntyre is 1B but Stoops blew Barnhart away in the interview

Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops has agreed to a deal that will make him the new head football coach of your University of Kentucky Wildcats. An official announcement from the university is expected later this afternoon.

I wanted Petrino but I'm willing to give Stoops a chance. Unless he just completely tanks, he deserves 5 years to prove himself.
