also the Greenbrier

heading out to Tuscaloosa saturday
Greenbrier got it from Gibson’s. There are a few places out of North Alabama that have it, but Huntsville, Decatur, Florence, and Athens are where it's most common.

Nice video, 10ac. I have met Andy. He's a good guy. He does a butterfly effect TED talk like thing that is fun.

Yes, Solvang. Very cool place.

Yes, the Flora-Bama is still a thing.

Nice video. Speaking of those meddling kids, looks like you don't have to worry about them in Orange Beach, it looks like none of the residents are under 70...

That is incorrect, despite who the video showcased (they wanted to show longtimers and family, I suppose, not the co-eds).

Yes. There's a thriving wine industry in that area. If you ever have the opportunity to drink some Sea Smoke I highly recommend the Pinot.

I've lived in LA since 1982 - straight out of college. Went to graduate school here and have lived in Santa Monica, West LA, Glendale, Northridge (lost my home in the earthquake), and the Calabasas area. I can get be in Malibu in 15 minutes, can snow ski in 90, or explore the Sierras in 5 hours. We had a home in Mammoth Lakes when the kids still lived at home and the Summers there were even better than the Winters. I can't argue that housing is expensive but after the first house, you get to ride the escalator up so its a pretty good thing. I'd move away but there's no place I'd rather be. And as far as people and politics, its invigorating to be around people with strong viewpoints, whether you agree or not. Also keeps you young and healthy to be around smart, health-conscious, aware people.

I just got back from there, we stayed in Westwood but drove all over. The traffic would take a little (a lot) getting used to for me, but we had a great time. We have enjoyed Fess Parker wines for some time now, and recently went to a wine dinner here hosted by the local shop with reps from Fess Parker pouring their wares. Got to meet Fess's grandson, told him we wanted to visit their winery (and others in the So Cal wine region), he said give him a call and he would hook us up, so I think that's going to be our next vacation. I've been to Napa and Sonoma (and the underrated Santa Cruz) regions many times (used to live in SF and have taken a few trips back since then) but the never Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, etc. wine regions, looking forward to it...
