Obama isn't witty, but he has timing when fed lines. McCain is the most "on his feet" comedian out of all of them.
I don't have a lot of confidence in Romney. He's never shown a hint of chops, not in speeches & definitely not on his feet.

I find Romney to be a mostly sincere and honorable man (not that I agree with what he does but I don't find how he thinks as immoral or unethical) but he is badly out of touch with the average worker. I think Obama will capitalize on that during the debates

I think you're right on all 3 points.
One thing Mitt is not, though, is funny.

Who was the last presidential candidate that was in touch with the average worker?

Millard Fillmore...

Clinton.
Mind you, he may not have REALLY been in touch with the average worker, but he made you feel like it. That's all that is needed. Bush came close, too. Particularly early on in his Presidency.
Also, you said "candidate." I bet there are a long list of those. They convict who almost won the WV Democratic Preliminary against Obama comes to mind...

pretty much irrelevant. Romney isn't going to stand up there with a fake tear in his eye and tell the American people he feels their pain, and even if he did they'd think he was full of shit.

Romney's wife is a Stepford wife. Unfortunately, she came with a chip that was manufactured in the 1970's. And was never updated. Danger, Will Robinson...

Stepford wives are immortal robots, never aging. Stepford wives do not get Cancer or MS. Stepford wives do not graduate from Harvard. Stepford wives do not breed 5 sons (or any sons for that matter.)
Ann made Mitt into the man he is today. Mitt would be insignficant were it not for his wife. A Stepford wife can not make a man into a better man.
Ann Romney is many things. One of those things is our future First Lady. Another one of those things is the kind of woman (totally dedicated and supportive of her husband) many of the divorced men at the Goat Pen would have wanted in their wife. One thing she is not, is a Stepford wife.
Now, back to Florida State, I think they go 8-4 this year.

You're even worse than her. At least she has some measure of worldly success. You're a robot that failed....

our desk was a door on block, our dining room an ironing board?
I'm supposed to believe that Mitt Romney didn't have shit as a young adult on his own and lived like a damn homeless man at a shelter?

All of the repubs that spoke last night were robots, except Christie. Even at its best, it's not terribly inspiring, but last night was one of the most tepid, boring nights of political speechifying I've ever had the misfortune to hear. It is truly revenge of the nerds with these guys. Nerdy, unpopular kids in high school who were in the band and student government. Never got any pussy (or only nerd pussy) and were not popular or cool. Santorum is the kind of guy I would avoid in high school. I just wouldn't ever speak to a guy like that, much less hang out with him. Everybody else was just as wooden, fake and uninspiring, including Romney's stepford wife. IB would've been truly happy, energized and inspired if he could've been on hand last night. He probably was anyway, just watching on TV. Might've even shed a tear. These are the type of people who inspire IB. That's all you need to know...

IB believes it. If they say it, he believes it (with his arms, torso and head pivoting and swinging in robot fashion)....

the big question - does 20 million people watching it and another 20 million reading it today believe it?

The thing is, even if it was true (for some short duration of time), it doesn't matter. Ann's father was mayor of her town or some shit like that and Mitt's father was an ex-Presidential contendor for a major party and head of an automotive company. If they decided to eat jelly sandwiches on an ironing board, it was because they decided they wanted to. They did not have the stress of where the next meal was coming from or how to make the ends meet. They had a familial safety net so close to their asses that they would not even feel the effects of gravity if they fell. That would be like me making my kids stay in a campus dorm and telling them that I was only putting $2K in their accounts at the beginning of the semester. They may make concessions to protect their allotted cash, but they never really feel broke. They know I have a checkbook that will take care of their problems at the touch of a cell phone. That's not experiencing struggle. That's anthropologically visiting struggle.
Christie had a decent speech, but he should have made one about Mitt. I mean, this party is for him. He basically went to Mitt's birthday party with a photo album of how he likes to party. CC in '16!
