Alas, gator is too rich for our blood at 6-6/7-5 (yes, we won't get 2 playoff teams). Our best bet is the Music City vs an ACC team.

Next year we should at least be able to go to a FL bowl..

Tick: Are you expecting your coach to return or move on to Michigan?

Snood, I'd be floored if A)Butch was offered the job and B) he'd take it.

But I've been floored before.

Butch isn't leaving is my official opinion.

Having said that, if he does it will devastate this program for years to come. As if we aren't in bad enough shape already...

Some results of what will happen if he left after this season:

- I bet our athletic fund is still low. If Butch left and his entire staff left too, we would have to hire personnel to replace them. We don't have the money unless we want to pick up some upstart high school coaches. Or perhaps the fat one can be enticed to come back with generous truckloads full of Krispy Kremes.
- If he left, who the @#$% would we get to replace him? Who could we afford which is good enough to coach at this school, someone who can coach/survive in the SEC, someone who has the expectation they would get us to a bowl game someday, is willing to come here, and can recruit? No one at this time as there is no one out there(except the before mentioned fat one). Well, maybe Chavis but I doubt he would come back. Speaking of recruiting...
- No recruit worth a damn will come here 'cause they simply won't know what to expect. When Kiffin left, we had only 2 of his 22 person recruiting class actually come to UT. We STILL have not recovered from that fiasco. Butch leaving would create an unrecoverable nightmare.

There are other reasons but I'll stop there as I could be here all night and those hit the main points anyway.

Bottom line: if Butch leaves we will become a stepping stone school and we will be fucked for 15-20 years. Heck, that maybe true already...

Perhaps you are not aware former Coaches Phillip Fulmer and Doug Mathews are cohosting a new weekly radio program, entitled “Coach to Coach.” The website for that program is: Coach To Coach Radio | Breaking Down Tennessee Football I am not sure whether they archive the program for permanent access, but the latest segment of that program is podcast for one week beginning noon of that Saturday. It can be heard by activating the “Listen Posted Each Saturday” link visible on the right sidebar of the home page. Once you have done so, you will note that the bye-week edition of “Coach to Coach” is accessible in four segments.

Butch Davis is available. He would actually be perfect to UT. He is "damaged goods" due to off-field shennanigans, but he can coach and recruit, and he won't shrink from the SEC snake pit. UT just has the wrong Butch...

Fulmer was not the brains behind the operation - David Cutcliff was. Phil only had a 62% winning pcts w/o Cutcliff...with him as OC it was 78%. More proof is the fact that Cut is getting CoachOTY awards at Duke and winning at an unprecedented level, whereas Phil is selling annuities.

Butch scored two **** recruits total in his 6 years at Central Michigan and Cincinnati. At TN he will have OVER 20 when this next class signs. A rabid fanbase that sells out a 102k stadium even during losing seasons stands out to recruits, as does our second-to-none facilities. And Middle TN is one of the largest growing population centers in the country. To say Butch Jones is the only coach who can get the job done here is bizarre.
