And they didn't show much of his old footage either. It started me on a Yahoo screen rampage last night of his old clips. Stayed up later than I wanted. At least they acknowledged that Eddie saved the SNL franchise from extinction in the early 80's.

Tough to pack in 40 years in 3 1/2 hours, but I thought they did a good job. Eddie got his just props, though, and also called out to speak...

Bill Simmons wrote a great piece for Grantland on the career arc of Eddie Murphy, reminding us how awesome he was at such an early age.

I could have done without The Californians, although Bradley Cooper making out with Betty White was funny. The biggest WTF was Miley Cyrus singing "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" when Paul Simon is right the fuck there. If he had sang "Wrecking Ball" or some shit like that right after, it would have made sense, but...

I wasn't familiar with the Californians sketch, I just assumed it regional sass (NYC >>> Cali)....

Miley Cyrus is on for like 5 minutes and Eddie Murphy is on for 30 seconds

WTF has Miley Cyrus contributed to SNL?

I did like Wayne's World dogging Kanye though

I'm guessing them having Miley and Dick head as the musical guests instead of old timers is so they can reach the younger crowd.

I know you have to show proper respect to Paul McCartney and its a big deal whenever you can get him to sing - he doesn't have many live moments left

but I had to fast forward thru his song - he wasn't hitting the notes at all.

My girls and I swear his mic was turned off at the Grammys. Maybe he was holding back for this.

I know I had trouble sometimes doing back to back nights and I wasn't 89 years old.

Thus post is to shame eCat, who hasn't been the same since the death of Bon Jovi.
