11 a.m.? That's brunch. But I'm sure grandpappy Durham would've bristled at the idea of brunch...

Some of my answers:
y'all
frosting
yard sale
crawdad
water fountain
supper / dinner (means the same to me)
tennis shoes
roly poly
lightning bug
semi-truck
Which gave me the KC, Springfield, and Irving map points.

Icing goes on toaster strudels and Cinnabun type stuff. Frosting goes on cakes, cupcakes, and nipples.
What the hell else do you call a crawdad?
I debated on semi or semi-truck but I find myself saying semi-truck more than just semi.

y'all
icing
garage sale
crawfish
water fountain
supper / dinner (means the same to me)
tennis shoes
pill bug
lightning bug or firefly interchangeably
18-wheeler
Chose mountain lion but cougar is also acceptable

Evidently it all comes down to one answer. Mine were the same for most of those (although have to say I never made a fine distinction b/w icing and frosting), and it's not like I wouldn't say garage sale just as readily as yard sale. Likewise, mountain lion or cougar works, as well as several different terms for a Mack truck ("semi" would probably be the third or fourth choice, but wouldn't be outlandish, although I doubt I would ever say "semi-truck" instead of just "semi"). Never heard of a pill bug, though...

crayfish.
I didn't realize until I was an adult that a firefly and a lightning bug were the same thing. I just thought we didn't have fireflies in Pennsylvania.

I have heard crayfish but probably wouldn't say it...

as you might have imagined from my body shape and eating habits, I like to occasionally watch Diners, Dives and Drive In.
seems like 1 out of 3 places they do is in Texas, but I wanted to ask Cletus if he had ever been to a place called Hopleaf Bar in Andersonville (Chicago)
They served a bacon wrapped brisket that is slow roasted for several hours and pile it on a plate while a rye bread fails in its attempt to keep it contained.
I'd bypass my attempt to forego red meat if I could get to that place.

I used to go there a lot before I had kids. Fantastic food and beer list. But, they don't let kids in under any circumstances so it fell out of our rotation. It's not too far from where we live. I should go back there this summer.

Even if they need someone with small hands and arms to retrieve something from the disposal?

Sad but not as sad as when Jackson was killed during that holdup after they won the city title.
