After the long break, White and Pettway should be okay. But I think our secret weapon is Oklahoma's decades old habit of losing big games. They're called Chokelahoma and Big Game Bob for a reason.
No offense, but I don't think OU sees this as that big of a game, which is obviously part of the equation with these bowl picks.

So AU is in fighting trim, they're damn glad to be there, they're getting 4.5.. :::check:::

Your point about OU not seeing this as a big game is well taken. But maybe the reason they lose so many big games is that they don't see ANY of their big games as big games.

I think they'll do to us what they did to the last team from the state of Alabama they played in the Sugar Bowl.

How will the fighting butches do?

Was going with the tractor humpers plus 3.5 but they just announced that their starting qb wouldn't play so I went with my butches. This particular bowl contest starts tomorrow so I was glad I waited.

How much longer will Butch be in Knoxville?

No idea. He's still recruiting well ...the hope is he upgrades his staff. And eases up on the platitudes.

I heard that if GA loses it's bowl game then every team in the SEC will have lost at least 12 games total in the last three years (save you know who). So basically one coaching spot out of 14 has long-term security.

It's easy to recruit well when you get to sign 30+ players.

And yes, coaching in the SEC is a cut throat business. It's not enough to win 90% of your games (see Mark Richt and Les Miles). You'd better win a conference championship every 3-4 years and beat your biggest rivals at least half the time. Saban ensures that hardly ever happens.

I can respect that. Tennessee fans have a legit beef with him. He was your Fran.
He did some pretty good stuff at UT... piss off Urb, check... Lose to Alabama, check...

Every coach has people pissed off somewhere... Saban has haters at LSU, and still has haters in Miami of all things. USCw hires Kiffen away in the middle of the night only to fire him just off of the tarmac??? So, I guess he has haters in Knoxville and Los Angeles, and we all have proof the A Dept in Los Angeles is better at late night ops than the A Dept at East Lower Alabama University.... aTm is the one I can't figure out... why are they so pissed at Franchione???

On a much, much, MUCH more important note... I hope all had a safe and Merry Christmas... I just got home this evening from Mama's, spent four days with her... First Christmas after my brother's passing was a little difficult, but I still get to count each day as a blessing as Mama's health is still remarkably well.

I can only imagine the ridicule Alabama would have been shown if we'd have fired either Richt or Miles.. U of A caught plenty for firing Shula... Mike was a decent guy and a good ambassador for the University, but he was well paid for mediocrity well after leaving Tuscaloosa.

And Ain't Saban a heck of a guy! I like him.

I thought both Richt and Miles should have been retained in their positions... good men with excellent track records. Both are victims of the "what have you done for me lately" mentality, but damn, it was just 2011 that Miles won the SEC and went to the BCSNC game.

And I still didn't give a damn if fRan left, but you damn well tell your players goodbye.

I don't think USC fans have a gripe with Kiffin. Leaving the Vols in the middle of a night after a year? Yeah, Vols have a gripe because it ruined recruiting and Tennessee would have been much better off by hiring someone else, someone who would stick around a few years, than someone who did that. Very similar to Fran leaving for TAMU.

I think you have a point with Miles, but less so with Richt. He recruited fabulous classes every year, but won the SEC championship only twice. No NC appearances, much less victories.

The joke was, several SEC fans were drinking at a bar. The Alabama fan stood up and said, "Our coach Nick Saban won us four National Championships!" A Tennessee fan said, "Our head coach Phil Fulmer won us a National Championship!" An LSU fan said "Our coach Les Miles won us a National Championship." A Florida fan said, "Our coach Urban Meyer won us a National Championship!" An Auburn fan said, "Our coach Gene Chizik won us a National Championship."

The Georgia fan said, "Our coach Mark Richt spoke at my church last year!"

I wish you were forced... out the door of a flying airplane...

If you really want to make a Dawg fan mad, point out that even lowly GA Tech won a NC since UGA won theirs.

UGA fans are as arrogant as Bama fans, but without the championships to back it up.
