Saw a good movie last night, Boyhood. It's by Richard Linklater, same guy that did Dazed and Confused. He filmed it over 12 years, using the same actors, so you actually watch them age as the movie progresses. It is especially striking with the two children. Good movie...

I heard that and a movie called Whiplash were good.

Guy was just in my office telling me about a scene in Gone Girl. I haven't seen it but if you've seen the movie you know the one I'm talking about.

Boyhood is interesting. It has a unique gimmick, which tends to make people say it was amazing or whatever. I agree it was good though.

Yeah, I read some of the reviews that were touting it as one of the greatest movies of alltime. Maybe it is, but that wasn't my feeling after seeing it last night, although I certainly don't hesitate to recommend it highly...

It did well in the Golden Globes. I knew it took 12 years, but I didn't realize it filmed for 12 years...I just thought it was a bitch for him to get greenlit.
