The Department of Education was created because of the piss poor academic performance of predominantly black primary and secondary schools. It was created by Carter to give black students a leg up. Our peanut farmer POTUS thought the way every liberal did, can't fix anything unless you throw tax dollars at it. Since then, school performance has only gotten worse and worse for all demographics (all except Asians.) And we all know the problem, family life. There is no point having a federal department of education if almost 42% of our children are sired as bastards.

The Department of Education was not established out of thin air. It was spun off into a stand alone department in 1979. Prior to that, it was part of what was then the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, which was established in 1953 by Eisenhower.

Trump took all the smartest people who work in government (president Obama’s United States Digital Service) and retasked them to be bean counters and database admins in working for DOGE. That way they can investigate other agencies who would not cooperate with them in letting them know where the money is spent.

That is because the bastardy rate was down near 10 percent for all children in 1953. No one needed a leg up because people got married and they stayed married because people like you didn’t exist yet since no fault divorce law did not exist yet. Administration is expensive. Fire all the people who set policy as to how the federal dollars are allocated. Allow governors to have autonomy over that money. Moreover those federal people have very few actual laws to follow to regulate how the money was allocated. They set policy like if you teach archery in phys ed you lose all your federal dollars. That is just woke bullshit.

There really shouldn’t be any federal dollars for education and there wouldn’t be any of that title 1 bullshit if people sired their children in marriage and if parents demanded that their delinquents treat teachers with respect instead of treating them like babysitters.

Pell grants only mattered when higher education was actually affordable. Those grants haven’t made any real difference in almost 40 years. No one is going to get 100k taxpayer funded grant for a damn gender studies degree nor should they. But as long as kids sign up for unlimited student loans that is what the market will bear for that bullshit..
