Re: Florida State Seminoles
you cut off all this funding to the media and paid protestors and all this faux outrage,
and you see the real representation of the country
it will change and I'm sure someone here will be trumpeting it, but for now, just understand, everything that has been presented about the leaning of this country the last 4 years has been a lie - paid for by Democrats with American tax dollars to turn their own country against them.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
“… A series of emails sent late last month to front-line staff at parks across the country provided rangers with instructions on how to describe the highly publicized staff cuts. Park leaders further instructed staff to avoid the word “fired” and not blame closures on staffing levels.
On Feb. 14, at least 1,000 park service employees were terminated as part of broad reductions to the federal workforce by the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. As a result, visitor centers have reduced hours, tours of popular attractions have been canceled, lines have spiraled, bathrooms may go uncleaned, habitat restoration has ceased and water has gone unchecked for toxic algae.
Meanwhile, rangers have been ordered to describe these cuts — or “attrition” and “workforce management actions,” according to the talking points — as “prioritizing fiscal responsibility” and “staffing to meet the evolving needs of our visitors.” They also should tell visitors the parks will continue to ensure “memorable and meaningful experiences for all.”
If asked about limited offerings, one park’s rangers were instructed to say “we are not able to address park or program-level impacts at this time.”
The guidance mirrors other measures instituted by the Trump administration to dictate how federal employees communicate with the public. …”

National Park Service staff have received talking points ordering them to describe layoffs as “workforce management actions” and to reassure visitors that changes resulting from the cuts won’t impede “memorable and meaningful experiences for all.”

Re: Florida State Seminoles
this is what I was talking about
there is no reason for the Federal government to own 20%
now I doubt much if any of that land is suitable to start building sub divisions of 1300 sq ft homes but the point is that the federal government sits on this land and it serves no purpose to help Americans

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Unfortunately you may have a hard time finding a contractor willing to build a 1300 square foot house today. Not enough profit. But even if you could can you justify building such a small house on such expensive land?eCat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 1:34 pm this is what I was talking about

Expensive, unpopulated land often hundreds of miles from any type of retail outlets, restaurants or services...

Land hundreds of miles away from everyone and everything is generally only home to native Americans or Alaskans. Build a 1300 square foot home hundreds of miles away from everyone and everything, you would have a hard time even funding a squatter there.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
yea I don't think it will be impactful
one thing that would work, however, is going all in on imminent domain on areas of urban blight and converting warehouse districts and areas with abandoned houses/infrastructure to housing. Not section 8 rent controlled bullshit but permanent homes that people could purchase with help.
But what we have learned is the government will allocated 100billion for it and 20 units will be built, and 250 people will become millionaires

I can’t speak for Ohio or Kentucky or North Carolina, but what you are saying is already happening in AZ. And we didn’t need eminent domain to make it happen. Contractors are ripping down malls and movie theaters and turning the old buildings and all of the parking spaces into apartments stacked one on top of the other.eCat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 4:11 pmyea I don't think it will be impactful

As far things people want to buy, there is not much here since everyone seems to want to rent. Rental demand is sky high and it has been that was for almost 5 years. I can’t explain it. It just is.

For such a staunch conservative with libertarian leanings, you certainly don't talk / think like one with such ideas.eCat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 4:11 pmone thing that would work, however, is going all in on imminent domain on areas of urban blight and converting warehouse districts and areas with abandoned houses/infrastructure to housing. DOGE Cuts Reach Key Nuclear Scientists, Bomb Engineers and Safety Experts
Firings and buyouts hit the top-secret National Nuclear Security Administration amid a major effort to upgrade America’s nuclear arsenal. Critics say it shows the consequences of heedlessly cutting the federal work force.
www.nytimes.com www.nytimes.com
“They handled the secure transport of nuclear materials — dangerous, demanding work that requires rigorous training. Four of them took the Trump administration’s offer of a buyout and left the National Nuclear Security Administration.
A half-dozen staff members left a unit in the agency that builds reactors for nuclear submarines.
And a biochemist and engineer who had recently joined the agency as head of the team that enforces safety and environmental standards at a Texas plant that assembles nuclear warheads was fired.
In the past six weeks, the agency, just one relatively small outpost in a federal work force that President Trump and his top adviser Elon Musk aim to drastically pare down, has lost a huge cadre of scientists, engineers, safety experts, project officers, accountants and lawyers — all in the midst of its most ambitious endeavors in a generation.
The nuclear agency, chronically understaffed but critically important, is the busiest it has been since the Cold War. It not only manages the nation’s 3,748 nuclear bombs and warheads, it is modernizing that arsenal — a $20-billion-a-year effort that will arm a new fleet of nuclear submarines, bomber jets and land-based missiles. …”

Big deal. Paloverde is hiring, big bucks. They all have six figure jobs tomorrow if they can get to Phoenix. Of course SRP and APS might not give them $6K a month pensions at age 50.
