People still living in tents in North Carolina.

they could rebuild 2500 homes with that money

how do you guys vote for that?
Congress appropriated that money for that purpose, nothing to do with FEMA. Or rather I should say, FEMA has no say about how that money is spent, they're doing what they were mandated to do with it...
the question is still valid
hedge is really HURTING right now. his copy-paste posts make no sense. He can't even follow his own logic at this point. And that lady at FEMA being fired for what she was caught doing, doubt that moved the needle with hedge even an inch. His TEAM is LOSING. That is ALL THIS IS for hedge, not right or wrong.

That would come to around $23K per "home."
Not every home would take $23k to rebuild. It’s not from the ground up

I am not lying but you are wrong.

Siding with your TEAM is all it ever is for people who can't think for themselves. Or people who can think but are just too prideful to admit that they picked the wrong horse. Usually, the latter is the case to explain all this emotional, unaccountable, hysteria that we are currently witnessing.

sigh

I am quite certain that Lawrence Fields (Dr Mike Burry's single largest investor) wasn't willing to call Mike Burry on the phone to apologize for suing Mike after Mike made him $473 million dollars with the Credit Default Swaps. And why was Fields not man enough? PRIDE prevented that Saint. Lawrence's pride, he simply could not swallow it. Lawrence Fields was on the Wall Street TEAM that believed (until the end) that investing-in-housing-is-GREAT and he was proven wrong, BUT, protected from his financial ignorance by picking a brilliant man to have total autonomy to manage his money.

That is where we are at right now, PRIDE. With rat, hedge, DS, and few others on this site, their PRIDE is stung at this point. That is why they refuse to admit that they admire what Elon Musk is doing to make our government, accountable. They are just too proud to admit that they were wrong. So, stick with the TEAM even if it means we all die.

Trump is doing this Gaza nonsense to suck up to Israel. A sure sign of weakness but Biden was no better. Maybe a few less women and children will be incinerated under Trump.

Congressional hearing on USAID funding and spending

Basically, this is Republicans asking questions of witnesses that refuse to answer them, and democrats obfuscating the entire hearing, not asking anyone any questions other than to say why are we even having this hearing??? Stop picking on this agency, they are stopping Ebola!!!

Both parties have turned into extreme snooty cunts. The politicians are literally vetted for their ability to act in this manner. Burn it all down.

When am I getting my check for all this savings? All I've seen is that I will be paying more federal taxes, which isn't going to go over well for anyone who wants to keep living.

I really hope it works out for Trump and us but if shit goes sideways, I'm ready.

"but congress wanted it!"

Don't worry, Trump will get it back when he sells drilling rights in Yellowstone and Yosemite. And you'll be fine with that...

I know $400 million isn't a lot to Musk, but still, being head of DOGE has its perks...

State Dept. Plans $400 Million Purchase of Armored Tesla Cybertrucks

The department plans to buy armored Tesla vehicles. Elon Musk, who is leading efforts to cut government spending, has won more than $13 billion in government contracts in the past five years.

“… The purchase of Cybertrucks, an atypical choice for government armored transport, is likely to raise conflict of interest issues, especially as Mr. Musk trumpets his own efforts to root out what he regards as unnecessary spending.

Mr. Musk is already a major government contractor. Companies he owns or controls have secured $13 billion in federal contracts over the past five years. SpaceX, the rocket company he founded, collects most of that money and is one of the biggest government contractors.

The State Department procurement forecast was published in December, after Mr. Trump won the election but before he took office. Plans to purchase Cybertrucks were reported earlier on Wednesday by Drop Site News.

Sales of the Cybertruck have been modest since its introduction in late 2023. Tesla sold 39,000 last year, according to estimates by Cox Automotive. With a starting price of $80,000, the vehicle is too expensive for many buyers. …”
