That was the problem so perfectly summed up with a single Twitter/X post. A few of them asked him silly questions unrelated to the DoD, but many of them just used up their 5 minutes to lecture him, not ask him one bloody question, and at the end after scolding him, tell him they would not be voting for him. Whoopie.

My parents routinely visit the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. That is their casino when they travel to the Gulf Coast. They are VIPs at the Beau, so to speak. (Which basically means, I get far less inheritance because the Beau would have gotten it all, LOL.) And even my folks were amazed at how fast everything was "rebuilt" after Katrina. Shocked, I might add.

Mississippi is poor. There is NO state that is poorer. West Virginia is fucking rich compared to Mississippi. If they can fix that shit that fast in Ole Miss, how long will it really take to rebuild all of Palisades CA?

He took that back because the DNC punished him for that. But he gets the working man.

I spent time in Arkansas, WV and Mississippi.

Arkansas is the most god awful place to live of the 3.

I actually lived in Mississippi for 2 years in a little town called Ocean Springs.

Its like anything else though - if you have the means to live in a nice area, then the state is nice. If you earn 20K a year working at the pac-n-sac, its a pretty shitty existence no matter where you are.

My grandparents (on my father's side) moved to Ocean Springs in 1974 when my grandfather lost his job at the shipyard in Quincy Massachusetts. Too expensive, too inefficient. The stories he would tell me about how one mafia guy working a do-nothing job carried the same length of pipe around with him for 20 years, no wonder it closed. So, he took a new job doing the exact same thing at Ingalls Shipyard. And he wasn't the only one on his shift to move to Mississippi.

So, Ocean Springs was where we might go for the summer as a kid growing up. I went there twice in the 1970s, driving South we would go to Mississippi and not Florida for some awful reason. I mean it was nice down there in Ocean Springs, just poor. The state is pretty much forever dead last (50-out-of-50) in every meaningful life measurement category that is important to ordinary Americans. Then the casinos went in and now move in all the compulsive gambling and it heh, they have some money now right? LOL

Using your numbers, your link, the GDP per capita in Mississippi in 2024 was $53,061. In West Virginia it was $60K.

Out of the 50 states, the GDP per capita in Mississippi is dead last, like I said. Do NOT challenge me on math or numbers. The only one who needs help, is you counselor.

Never been to Jackson or Oxford. Spent months and months in Biloxi and Ocean Springs. Turned 21 on a gambling boat out of Biloxi. Stayed in probably (I don't know?) 4 or 5 different exchanged timeshares down on the Mississippi coast.
