At the moment, there are 900 incarcerated men (only men) fighting the California wildfires. Their pay is $1 an hour. One. It has been $1 an hour since 1984. 4 decades. That is why there are only 900 California inmates willing to risk their lives and not 9000. Newsome had a bill on the table to raise the pay to $5 an hour but it wasn't #woke for him to do so (because some of these men may have violated women), so he killed the bill. But the 900 who are doing this are not rapists or murderers. Apparently, murderers and rapists are not eligible to earn this $1 an hour and lets be honest, that is biting the nose off to spite the face.

You know, there are Playboy Centerfolds who are perpetual bimbos when they are in the 40s and 50s and no one wants to fuck them anymore.
