BC's secondary isn't very good and our receiving corps is excellent. Match that with a QB having a strong arm and balls of steel and you get Saturday's result. I hope our defense comes to play when we play teams with comparable talent (UM, UF, Clemson, even UMd) or it's going to cost us a couple of games. We can't afford an offensive let down because the defense hasn't shown much ability to step up.

Am I satisfied with the result? I am not. I am angry, pissed off. I'm happy for you guys, but angry. I am not angry at the coaches. They got the team ready to play. IB - BC played well - the 1st quarter made me think of 2 years ago at Wake when they had two weeks to prepare and came out and shut us down - great team effort and great coaching

don't be surprised if you guys get a bowl bid this year - problem is that the BC fans will not support it and that is your biggest obstacle to getting better, recruits know when a fan base is really behind their team

Maryland has some weapons on both sides of the ball but once Brown went down (cheap shot! cheap shot!) the coaching staff seemed to give up. They might be the 4th or 5th best team in the ACC right now but yesterday everything went wrong for them, and when our offense is rolling I don't see how it can be stopped. I really can't remember EVER having this many weapons before - maybe in '93 timeframe with Cholly, Warrick, and 3 good receivers but it's hard to say right now. I keep waiting for Winston to come back down to earth but he keeps getting better, and I love his post-game interviews where he recognizes how "lucky" a lot of his great plays are and how he must improve week-to-week. He doesn't seem like the kind of kid to let success spoil him, if we can somehow escape Clemson I think we expose Miami's defense and roll all the way to the Swamp (and I'm afraid that place is going to ruin another season for us).
