I can't see that happening unless we totally implode, as in lose to either Maryland/Dook and then lose before the ACC tourny finals, and even then I think the committee would gamble on at least a FF matchup b/w us. If we win out, they'll definitely set it up for a potential Finals clash b/w UNC and UK. Not saying that either of us will make it there, but that would obviously be the dream matchup from a ratings standpoint...

God, I hope so. But if we don't kick dook*'s ass in the outhouse Saturday night, we don't deserve anything better than the shittiest #2 seed in the tournament. I will say this -- it'd be unfair to Kentucky after the season they've had. Not that they couldn't/wouldn't beat us in an Elite 8 matchup, but to have them replay their toughest home game all season long, on a neutral court as the #1 team in the nation, would be something I'd have expected of the NCAA selection committee in the days of unK*le tom butters as the chairman.

Oh and Bluecat, I appreciate rival fans like you who "get it". I'd root like hell for Kentucky if they meet up with dook* -- and you know how I feel about our all-time rivalry with the Cats. Boston and Atlanta are the regional final sites, so I that is not within 50 miles

If IU knocks off MSU tonite, then no way they get a 1 seed.

if UNC and UK end up in the same regional, that means UNC is an overall No. 8 and I can't see that happening unless they lose Saturday and again in the ACC semis. then they might end up as a 3 seed

With IU beating MSU tonight, they'll definitely end up in our bracket as a 3 or 4 seed. They've already knocked off UK, OSU and now MSU, the obvious thing to do is continue the giant killer theme and put them in UNC's bracket for a potential juiced up Sweet 16 or Elite 8 matchup. To say nothing of the Zeller vs. Zeller story line...

...I think the B1G-TEN(12) and the Big-XII(10) have officially beat each other up so much, they forfeit any possibility of getting a number one in the tourney. So that puts us in a bind unless the ACC gets two #1 bids (wont fucking happen.)

We don't really have enough information yet, but barring any huge upsets in the conferance tourneys, I think our number ones will be Duke, Syracuse, Kentucky, & (for lack of any obvious choice) Murray State (given they will end the season @ 30-1). I really want to hesitate putting such a little-itty-bitty team in as a number one (particularly when SDSU @ 33-2 was only a 2) but at this point, who would be that 4th and final #1? All the best teams from the power conferances have way too many regular season losses and more losses will be coming. Murray State is just a c-nt hair away from being 31-0.

The #2 seeds, okay yeah, UNC, the Big-XII(10) winner say Mizzou, Michigan State, and either Witchita State or California.
