This has got to be a joke. What biz is it of govt to do this?

Obama Couldn’t Wait: His New Christmas Tree Tax

http://blog.heritage.org/2011/11/08/oba ... -tree-tax/

In the Federal Register of November 8, 2011, Acting Administrator of Agricultural Marketing David R. Shipman announced that the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint a Christmas Tree Promotion Board. The purpose of the Board is to run a “program of promotion, research, evaluation, and information designed to strengthen the Christmas tree industry’s position in the marketplace; maintain and expend existing markets for Christmas trees; and to carry out programs, plans, and projects designed to provide maximum benefits to the Christmas tree industry” (7 CFR 1214.46(n)). And the program of “information” is to include efforts to “enhance the image of Christmas trees and the Christmas tree industry in the United States” (7 CFR 1214.10).

so there is now a government board to strengthen the position of the christmas tree industry in the christmas tree market. perhaps it's first order of business should be to find out what competes against christmas trees within the christmas tree market.

And I know all y'all conservatives are all butt hurt at the election results, but really, you are not familiar with Kasich. The man is amazingly hateable. He has gone out of his way to be smarmy and shitty to everyone he can be smarmy and shitty too. I have mentioned my independent mother before... she HATES this guy as a human being. Nothing to do with politics, she just thinks he is a complete shithead. Going after the unions was icing on the cake long after (and remember, he attacked the unions in very short order) she had already decided that he was a horrible horrible human being.

How is Kasich significantly different than any number of politicians? There's only ONE reason pols like him are so villified and that is because they are viewed as a threat to dems and their interests. And once the 9:1 media sinks their hooks in, they can turn anyone into a villain. Remember when John Ashcroft was the most reviled man in America? The day he stepped down was the last day you ever heard anything about him. He was no longer a threat, so they moved right on to their next target.

So John Kasich is just awful, right? Compared to, say...people like this?

Hmmmmmm..
First I don't ever remember John Ashcroft as the most reviled man in American and
second: there were many stories involving Ashcroft after he stepped down and not just on how the decision to torture detainies was made.

I take that back, it is actually good news for the rest of us right to work states in bringing new business. If Ohioans are going to base their decisions on the swarminess or shittiness of the politician rather than the actual issue itself, then let the evolutionary process weed them out...

Indiana should start booming very soon. They are sandwiched between Ohio and Illinois - two states that are following the California model of business climate: high taxes, union sclerosis and massive state regulation.

A lot of big businesses have already left Illinois for these reasons. And two corporate giants and major employers here - Sears and Caterpillar - are threatening to be the next:

If they do, this state will look like Detroit.

You guys are really living in your own little alternate reality over here aren't you?

Reality: Illinois has been raising corporate taxes in recent years.

Reality: As a result, businesses have been leaving the state for other states with lower taxes, especially next-door Indiana.

Reality: Caterpillar and Sears are major corporations and employers that have publicly threatened to leave Illinois and go to another state with lower corporate taxes.

Reality: If those corporations ever do leave, the economic damage will be severe.

Now, what part of this reality do you not get, Mook?

Sardis, as a Bob Jones grad, you don't actually believe in evolution, do you?

Speaking of governmental economic malfeasance, Jefferson County (i.e. Birmingham) Alabama files the largest government bankruptcy in US history:

I'd like to hear AA''s take on this. Government bankruptcy will be an attractive option for California, Illinois, and other little Greece's across the country.

The part of the reality where you dinks seem to think that Ohio is some liberal bastion second only to California.
