Kentucky freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist set UK fans buzzing Saturday night with a comment about his future.

"I'm graduating here. I'm not going nowhere," Kidd-Gilchrist was quoted as saying by Brett Dawson of Rivals.com and other reporters who were present at the time after Saturday's game against Vanderbilt. "I'm staying at Kentucky."

When reporters chuckled, Kidd-Gilchrist then added: "I'm dead serious. I don't know why y'all laughing."

After fans and media members began exchanging views about the quote through social media, a post on Kidd-Gilchrist's Twitter account appeared, saying, "I'm going to do what's ever best for me," without specifically referencing his earlier comments.

shit, I don't come here in a while and see that Hizzy's gone. wtf? was he sick? I recall some mention of health problems but nothing serious. damn, I will miss that guy. he was our Spock.

never would have picked Hizzy as the first of us to go. assuming gator is still alive (and that's never a sure thing), my money would have been on BRM for obvious reasons or goldie because his head would explode while watching a Carolina game.

just scrolled back and read posts after word broke. somehow I posted in the middle of it and didn't know until just a little while ago (about 11 p.m. EST saturday)

the funny thing is that photo of Hizzy is pretty much how I've always pictured him. still laugh remembering that story about the crackhead trying to buy rock from Hizzy and his friends in line at the Super Bowl years ago.

also, if he died on the 16th, he was posting on the 15th as if nothing was going on. damn, Hizzy, you sure did pull a good one over on us all.

Don't get too excited, crotch. Marvin Williams left Carolina after only one year, but he still comes back to Chapel Hill every off season to work on his degree. There's nothing in the US Constitution that I know of that would prevent Gilchrist from paying his own tuition in Lexington after he becomes a millionaire in June.

Yeah, Juwan Howard graduated on time from Michigan, Jordan ultimately graduated from UNC, Shaq from LSU and Wince Carter (notoriously) from UNC, too.

well I got crap seats - big shock eh? to the final four. While I'd love the atmosphere, I don't love New Orleans enough to go there and enjoy it while the event I'm actually going for is secondary so I'm going sell my tickets at face value

4 tickets - $698.

I also have a hotel reservation in Gretna at a La Quinta Inn for $99 a night if you want me to work some arrangement on that.

I don't expect any takers on here but I'd put them out there anyways.
