I spent almost 3 months in India.

maybe the bad parts of it have faded because I'm sure that was my thoughts on it as soon as I got back, but I'd actually love a chance to go back now. I'd have a much more open mind about food, at least.

every once in awhile I will watch a youtube video of some medical procedure that is very clinical in nature but fascinating, at least to me. This morning I watched a video of someone removing a cyst , but then someone linked this video and I had to share it. Stay with it to the end.

I didn't get the 22RE but I did get a 91 DLX 4X4 last night. Set me back a whole $2K.

I can't wait to start redoing it from the ground up. I'm like a kid at Xmas.

my issue is rust

body not bad at all

had to weld the shocks back to the frame

but theres a lot of rust on the back end

I drive it 3-4 times a week --guess I could put lots of money in derusting the underneath , some body work, fixing some doorhandles knobs and levers
but those Toyotas were so notorious for rusting underneath --you really need to pay attention n to that--Its only a matter of time before I have nothing to weld to

oh yea, that's why I waited so long. I probably looked at 20 trucks before this one. The frame is solid, but I'm going to rust treat it next month

my feel good story of the day

my wife's friend - you know the one - works for a university and has been doing the job for years. Unfortunately for her, most universities don't pay their administrative staff very much and feel like just about anyone can do the job.

She wanted a change - to move from her city to a better climate, to get away from the rednecks (she likes me however), and just get a fresh start with her career as she has matured.

Her skillset was solid but her resume and interview skills were not great. She was getting call backs but could never get past the first interview

So I had her send me her resume and I wrote her a cover letter, and we spent some time talking about interview strategies - you know the basics, how to turn a negative into a positive, taking on some project at work and making it yours, that sort of thing. I also had her erase her social media footprint. No more posts about being a bi-sexual atheist - although that would probably play well to a college audience.

She called last night and a school in a very desirable area has offered her a position that doubles her salary and is flying her up for 3 days to see the area, so she is ecstatic. She's giving me more credit than I deserve but I get some gold points with the wife for helping a friend and who knows, we might get to see each other more often now without having to go to Shithole, Alabama

Anyways, I may have just been forgiven after 20 years for taking her best friend to Cincinnati

I can't wait for my next earache. Imma gonna get paid up in this bitch!

-----------------------------

Randall Arney says the theater fired him because of his age and/or Bell's Palsy diagnosis and lied about the circumstances of his exit.

Days after announcing a new artistic director, The Geffen Playhouse is being sued by the person who had held the job for nearly two decades.

Randall Arney, 61, says he was forced out after 17 years and replaced by someone 20 years younger. He is suing the theater for age discrimination and libel, alleging in a complaint filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court that he was fired and the Geffen lied when it said he stepped down.

Arney says soon after he turned 55, the Geffen changed the terms of his employment and offered him a two-year contract with an option for the theater to extend it for a third year. In 2015, after those three years were up, Geffen revised the contract again — this time eliminating the option to extend it past two years.

In a February meeting, Arney says he was informed by board of directors co-chairs Pamela Henderson and Martha Robinson that his contract would not be renewed and he was left "stunned and shattered." The next day, a letter was sent to the board about Arney's exit — which he says falsely asserted that he agreed with the decision not to renew his contract and wanted to pursue other goals.

"Not only did Arney not agree to a 'transition' to 'focus on his directorial talents,' but these topics where [sic] not discussed at any time," writes attorney Sana Swe in the complaint, adding that Geffen staff members were given scripts indicating how they should respond to questions from subscribers and donors.

Arney also says the Geffen leaked the internal letter to the media.

"The Geffen stripped an award-winning and esteemed Artistic Director of control of the final decades of his career by refusing to renew his contract because of discrimination and defaming him in the process," writes Swe.

Last fall, Arney was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy, after having what had appeared to be a stroke at the office. He says he explained to his colleagues that "there was no way to diagnose the condition definitively, to predict how long he would be afflicted, or to know, once the condition receded, whether or when it would recur."

In April, Arney notified Henderson and Robinson that he believed his termination was because of his "age, disability, and/or perceived disability." He also indicated that he would not sign the non-disparagement agreement they asked for in connection with his severance. Arney says they didn't respond, and in June he took the matter to the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which issued a Right to Sue letter.

Arney is suing for age discrimination, disability discrimination, failure to prevent discrimination, libel, slander and intentional interference with prospective contractual relations. (Read the complaint below.)

aTm wrote:Summary.

This guy, mfbarnes82, or Mark F Barnes posted for years on texags and was kind of a know it all jack off who would post his detailed analysis of practices and shit and would participate in various discussions.

So yesterday he posts about a '54 corvette and posts pictures of a car he supposedly bought and was restoring. I guess somebody went and looked up '54 corvette on google to post a picture of what a finished one would look like and found these same pictures from 8 years ago on someones blog (and obviously not current as something he claimed to be doing right now). Someone else remembered how he posted his awesome garage in another thread, and people also found out that those were ripped off of the internet. Now people smelled blood in the water and began searching for this guys shit and he is all over the internet, and apparently always uses his real name and makes up outlandish shit.

I think some knew he was full of shit, but I don't think anybody ever put together all the crap that this guy claimed various place. He drove in a NASCAR race at Texas World Speedway in 1974 (and at a time when his most usually claimed age would have been 14 since he claimes to be Class of 1982 at A&M). He played football at A&M (not true). He was a strength and conditioning coach at A&M (not true, just a heads up nothing listed after this will be true). That he was a strength and conditioning coach on the Cowboys back to back championship teams. That he went to A&M. That he is a PE (professional engineer). That he has a masters degree. That he was an athletic scout or talent consultant or some shit.

He also posted some crazy story about his family roots in Brazos county, where his family showed up as sharecroppers in Mexican controlled Texas and got land from a Spanish grant, but they had to pledge to a republican militia to get the land (uh, wtf?). And his grandpa lived to be 118 years old.

So people started analyzing pretty much everything he ever posted. His nitrogen tank he posted in a nitrogen inflated tires thread? From the internet. His gun photos? From the internet. Etc.

From there someone got into his public photobucket and instagram and other things and post crazy pictures where he had photoshopped his head onto other people. One of which where versions had been photoshopped to have an aggie ring put on his hand and one without the ring. His head was on a bodybuilder and someone found the original picture on the internet. There was a picture of a tombstone that had been altered to change the date of birth from 1857 to 1811 (and thus, with the 1929 death date, give a lifespan of 118 years old). There were various photoshops of his texas drivers license. Bizarrely he appeared to try and change his height from 6-00 in some to 6-08 but I guess he fucked it up because most of them show his height as 6-80.

He also apparently has an oilfield consulting company. Website makes ridiculous claims, including a list of clients which he obviously never worked for. It also has an obviously fake "International Business" magazine cover that names him as the hardest working man in the oilfields. There are also pictures that probably document his music career, including a classic shitty album cover named "Barnestormer" from the 80s. Somebody found a copy of the plagiarized dissertation I mentioned before.

From there things went downhill. It turned out that a gofundme page that was created and posted on texags that was going to give money to an aggie rodeo barrel rider who's house burned down was actually created by this guy. People began to post his (extensive) criminal record, etc.

Also weird, like I said he always uses his real name, so you can find him reviewing stuff online. Someone found a porn review, which is amusing in itself, but his "review" was actually plagiarized from someone else's review online. He didn't even think up his own porn review.

Also his name is somehow associated with a 1919 A&M recruiting letter that espn recently posted on their website, I guess because he insterted himself in the story (I don't even think the guy who actually found the letter even knows him). During all of this it was also remembered that this idiot also tried to claim that he was the one who made up the name "Johnny Football" after he watched Manziel play at Tivy.

I don't know if I even remember all the bizarre shit that people uncovered.
So this story has an update. So shortly after this whole fiasco a poster named Lindsay Delriego or ldelriego appeared on texags. It seems that Lindsay Delriego is apparently a real person who lives in new york who happened to have a public facebook profile.

https://www.facebook.com/lindsay.delriego

So the ldelriego poster on texags has posted for a couple years (increasingly with insane political views and to post seemingly drunk late night pics stolen off the facebook profile of her and her hot friends) with details that mostly match the facebook profile, and an account profile that has pics taken from the facebook profile etc, although there seems to be a Texas A&M connection (dated a boyfriend) that was totally fabricated. People have communicated with this person and phone searches online show a phone number for a Lindsay Delriego that has a 281 (Houston) area code despite the fact that Lidsay Delriego has never lived here. So a few days ago people start claiming that ldelriego on texags is the mfbarnes guy again. He basically found a profile on the internet and assumed that persons identity to use on texags I guess.

So one of the original photoshopped pics from back in 2015 that he posted (mfbarnes face is photoshopped on the dude in the middle, along with a poorly shopped Aggie ring)

Image

Well...now people are realizing that the chick on the right is Lindsay Delriego (with her sister and before the shopjob, her brother). The internet is kind of a fucked up place. Of course random morons on texags are like calling her employer, sending messages on her facebook and linked in profiles, etc because they thought she was fake now or that she should be "warned". I think she might get or have gotten a rude awakening that her identity has been part of a world she's never even heard of. I guess long story short, dont make your profiles public.
