"So following that game did you see a lot of tickets up for grabs?"
I was too bitter to notice...

Stack getting hurt and that bullshit three at the half are what cost Carolina that game.
Carolina should have had three national titles during the 90's.
Fuck almighty. It still hurts.
If this doesn't draw Crow out, nothing will.

Fifer -- I went to the '97 Final Four in Indy and although I was bitter as hell after we lost to Arizona, unlike Hedge, I scalped my finals tickets for enough money to cover the cost of my trip. You won't have any trouble acquiring tickets to a dome that will seat 60,000 fans for basketball.

Been to two Final Fours (both in Indy), amongst other things. My exs dad was the VP of Beer & Pretzels for Krogers (and snacks). I married her for him. He got lots of fun perks.

I have 4 tickets to the final four. I'm going to be selling at least 2 of them. They are upper deck. I have no idea where the seats are as they haven't mailed out the tickets yet.
To be honest I was hoping to sell them for $200 (for 2) more than I paid assuming that UK/Ohio St/UNC would be in the final four. Face value tickets for the 3 games are $174 a pop. I've yet to meet anyone who got lower level tickets thru the lottery.
After hearing about the multitude of tickets at the superdome, I'm certain that you'll be able to get tickets at the event if you chose to go there.

I've been to a football game at the Superdome. The upper deck is bigger than most stadiums. You don't want to be in the upper half, it's really far up.

Was there a proper obituary for Hizzy? If so, I'd like to read it...

I havent seen one. Anybody want to take a crack at a 230 character message from us to go on the card for his flowers? Not sure what to put on there, honestly.

I might leave off any reference to the Goat Pen. Looks like most of the messages on the funeral home website came from his internet buddies. Maybe something like "from all your friends in cyberspace" or some such...

Have any of you guys ever been to the final four?
Was at the Final Four in '85 when it was at Rupp. Got to see Nova defeat Ewing and the Hoyas. Great game. Still have my ticket stubs. Hope they'll be worth something someday.

She'd be half right.

I ordered Hizzy's flowers. We will still have about $200-225 left over to do something else in his name. I have no idea what, though.

I'd vote to give his parent(s) a visa gift card or maybe Wal-Mart - who knows whether he had life insurance or how much his funeral cost. At a minimum they can stock the house with food for guests.

Sounds good to me. Might be some kind of memorial fund.

I wish we knew of a cause in the Houston area that he had a soft spot for. We could donate in his name. Maybe there were hints in his postings?

I'm sure whatever we do will be appreciated but my take is he'd want Pop Hizzy to have some cash in his hand.

I like eCat's idea, if you can get their address. Also wouldn't mind changing one of the thread names to honor Hizzy. The football thread is the obvious choice to me, but if somebody else has other ideas, that's fine too...
