Michigan's football team would wear their pants zippers at half staff.

Personally, on a separate note, I give a dubious side-eye to Karen as she asked about the "Michigan/Ohio" game the other day.

I don't know any Big Blue or Buckeye who speaks in that way. It's like meeting someone in Ohio who says "sneakers" or "soda."

I think of you every morning Karen.

I still can get over the fact that I always thought Hizzy was much older than I was. I guess in reality he really was if I thought that. I had no idea about any health issues but Im guessing that's how he wanted it. He had fun here, with us, as we did with him. I know this sounds weird but I always pictured Hizzys voice as Fred Sanford.

I definitely thought of Pap Hizzy's voice as Fred Sanford...

kentucky in trouble at the half and kstate smacks mizzou for a second time this year.

hizzy had a chrs berman quality in nicknaming his teams

to wit from the hizz

"Georgia's play on Saturday was the equivalent of Ball State playing Wisconsin. They get no exclusive attention within the weekly picks until further notice. If Richt looks indifferent on the sidelines, and he's the head coach, then why should anyone else care? War Chicken 30, Not-So-Bad-Leroy-Brown 17

UC has to prove to me that they've found a defense. The last two seasons, even during their 11-2 campaign under Kelly, saw some pretty ragtag defenses. Until then, I can't trust them to beat a BCS school on the road, even the Fightin' Pat Summits.
Dooley's Doo Doo 27, Los OsosGatos 21"

one of my favorite posts

"Also, after hearing about Brueschi's "chastising" of Chad and then Rodney Harrison's explanation of why Brueschi's was so bent out of shape, it's clear that those former Patriots take themselves WAAAAY too seriously. They also take this Patriot way shit too far. You ain't won a title in seven years. Stop acting like you and Belichick are Infallible. When Rodney Harrison's monkey ass became too old and useless to cheapshot his way to more success, he tucked his tail and jumped over to NBC.

Appears James Harrison, though an asswipe in his own right, probably isn't too far off in his evaluation of those two clods."

"Oklahoma at Florida State, Saturday, September 17, 8:00 PM

The big'un of the day showcases the grand potentates of backasswardness, tooth decay, cousin-'lovin' and all other forms of knee-slappin', jug-blowin' sophistimication versus that school where no good grade is earned without at least a small, harmless peek over your neighbor's shoulder at their term paper while the good professor pretends to be distracted by the 'squito that slipped in through the AC vent. Ho hum. All jokes (seriousness) aside, a win for one of these teams gives them a major inside track to the BCS title game in NOLA. FSU may be in the best position with a win, because after this one, their toughest game remaining on their regular season schedule is probably the tilt at Florida. As for OU, Boomer Sooner has a pair of stimulating home games verus Okie aggy and Texas aggy, and neutral site rivalry games (such as against Texas) can always be tricky, but a win in T-Allah on Saturday night will probably provide more gusto than any toothless inbred should ever enjoy. But there it is. Red Inbred 27, Village People 23"

and a nod to the bottom 10

"118. FAU: This is kind of by default because the bottom two are so suck shit out of a pig's ass bad that you can't conceive of anyone being worse. FAU gives it a good shot, however. By year's end, the Owls probably will be better on defense than the bottom two. Offensively, though, they're a unique brand of awful, having scored all of 3 points in two games and averaging less than 100 yards in TOTAL offense.

119. Akron: A red flag should've gone up when Ohio State put 40-plus on the Zips, particularly since Ohio State's offense is utter shit. The Zips have been outscored 142-17 in three games. They're so bad, they made Temple's two braindead QBs look good. They're so bad, that I'd give FAU 5:3 odds to score at least 20 points on them."

just a small sample of the genius of hizzy

I'm sure UK is going to pull this one out, but they certainly look underwhelming so far. I'm just glad to see that such a performance is at least a possibility for the otherwise unstoppable juggernaut that is this year's UK squad...
