The rest of the state is equally corrupt and insolvent. 4 of the last 7 governors went to prison, their bonds are rated one notch above junk, and Illinois lost more residents than any other state last year.

add The Imperial War Museum to that list and go out to Duxford. When are you going and for how long? I kind of have an inside on London

London is one of the greatest cities in the world. You could spend a month there and still not see everything you should see.

I could be bounded in a nutshell and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams...

90 minutes away from Baltimore and Maryland is a different place. Drove down from gettysburg thru cantoctin mountain and it was like driving thru a forest outside of Portland Oregon. Just beautiful country. And huge turtles...3 of them today at various time crossing the road.

eCat's unbridled joy at seeing road turtles is the kind of content that I pay for here

I spent a year in Great Bend. That's a terrible drive to or from anywhere.

Nothing is better than Pedro's just 50 feet inside South Carolina! After all, look at all the billboards on I-95 advertising how great it is!

go to do it again today - yesterday to go pick my daughter up, wifey and I swung by Gettysburg and then this morning coming back thru the mountains with daughter in tow.

A little town called Cumberland in Maryland (maybe mentioned before) just past Rocky Gap is a cool town. We made a point to stop there and eat this afternoon.

The turtles were cool - I mean what is it about Maryland that makes them so populated with them?

Rented a car for this trip, got a hybrid and the gas savings we got with the hybrid over our van meant that car ended up costing us about $25 all told.

That said, this ford fusion sucks. My van has better pickup, I never know when the goddamned is on when I press the button - I have to look at the dash for it to tell the car is ready to drive - and it has some stupid game on the dash where leaves grow or die next to the speedometer to let you know if you are driving efficiently or not. At first I tried to make the leaves grow but then I just got pissed going up mountains at 60mph, floored it most of the trip trying to make all them die.

That leaf game is helping save the planet.

Show some respect.
