Bammer gets manhandled on both lines of scrimmage, its Heisman winner gets stuffed except for one early run, and they still win the NC. Other teams will cry no fair until Saban retires.

Best thing about the game - we didn't have Musberger calling Nick 'the river boat gambler' after the onside kick.

Wizzie will forever torture Clemson fans with COVER THE TIGHT END.

And the SEC in a down year with maybe 3 upper tier QBs and just as many good tailbacks goes 9-2 in the post season.

That wraps season #19 with some of you bastages. On to NSD.

Gotta give Kiffin a lot of credit. His usage of Howard was masterful. Clemson had a fantastic game plan as well, neutralizing Bama's huge advantage on the D-line and moving Watson around enough to let him make plays.

Great, great game. I was rooting for Clemson - Watson is from our area and I have several friends who graduated from there - but Bama made plays when it needed to and that was the difference in the game.

Henry ended with 158 yards. It was less about the lines and more about the defenses having no answer for either offense.

"Henry ended with 158 yards."

Yeah, I was fixin to say. He didn't run roughshod over Clemson by any means, but he was plenty effective. Got stuffed a few times, sure, but I'd hardly characterize that aspect of last night's game as "Clemson stuffs Henry"...

Aside from the long touchdown, Clemson would gladly accept Henry's 3 YPC any day of the week. Henry's too good to be completely shut down but CU's defense was excellent last night.

I didnt see either defense as excellent, kev, with a combined 85 points and over 1000 yards of offense, but I don't guess it matters. It's Bama's 4th championship in 7 years. I'll take it, warts and all.

The Nicktator ditches Kiffin at the stadium. Too funny.

Nah. Kiffin rode with Saban because he missed the team bus.

Ok, 'stuffed' is may be a bit much on Henry, unless you limit it to the 2nd half - he was something like 15 for 30 yds.

In some respects this is a more impressive title for the Tide. Their main weapons (Henry, Defense front 7) were not doing their usual, so they found another way to win with both force and finesse.

Yeah, as to the finesse part....calling for that osk took huge balls, even if he had 4 NCs to fall back on. If it doesn't work the game could've easily gone the other way. I bet Dabo wishes he'd have done it first.

I remember when Urban Meyer had a string of 8 or 9 successful onsides-or-fake-punts in a row, one of which beat us. Considering the odds are 4/5-to-1 against overall...it speaks to how certain coaches, love'em or hate'em, know how to pull off going for broke.

The flip side is a story like Bill Battle's...a good coach and a gentleman but he failed on a fake punt against GA that ultimately put him into the collegiate licensing business.

The osk wasn't really a big gamble. Clemson was gashng us. Starting at the 50 or the 25 didn't make that much difference.

Congrats, Bama. You're the best, again.

If Saban keeps winning at this rate, Bama fans will be saying, "Bear who?"
