Unfortunately this MLS deal aslo includes a few USMNT games per year too, which will undoubtedly involve Bob Costas and numerous references to "Team USA"

Sounds like its basically the same deal that the NHL has been operating on the past few years (until this year, when as a part of this whole ramping up of NBC Sports Netwrok, they gave the NHL a 10 year $200 million per year TV deal)
I get Direct Kick--all the games except those few on FSN and ESPN

Odd. Klinsman is pulling names off the jerseys, and assigning the starting lineup 1-11 (subs 12-18) for friendlies now.

I guess we had to wait for ESPN to go away from the Little League regional game before we could watch the friendly...

I recorded an extra hour on ESPNews because i knew that would happen. ESPN never allows enough time for LL games.
That was a really poor game from Mexico. I know people like to think they they bossed the game and dominated the first half (It was tale of two halves! Nice one Harkes). The managed to play keep away for 45 minutes and some great defense (against what was a pretty pathtic American attack), but really they didnt do jack shit with the ball. They got one really nice individual effort goal off of a set piece, and Howard didnt actually make a save the entire rest of the game. It was typical Mexican panache and style and "domination" where they pretty much did jackshit but look pretty, and when the USA actually put players on who could keep the ball and run at them and attack, they pretty much had no chance of winning the game.

Watched the game sitting at the bar at Ruby Tuesday,s. They already have Sam Adam's Oktoberfest (my fav Adam's brew).
No Mexicans watching with me, which was disappointing. Guess they were all at BWW.

I had to record it so missed the first 20 mins--and that SHOULD have been a RED card on the tackle on Donovan!!!

Agreed, Mexico wasn't really anything special even early on. Shea's performance was the brightest spot for us I think but overall it went about as expected.

"There are a couple of scientists who have written a piece on him and have postualated that his leg blades give him a 10-12 second advanhtage over other runners in a 400-metre."
12 seconds? Isn't the WR time for the 400 somewhere south of 44 seconds? Cutting 12 off of that would be like cutting almost 3 seconds off the WR 100 meter time...

Yeah, it would be huge. Would turn an average runner world class.

Boris Said is insane. I know he seems like a relatively bright guy, and is a road racing teacher, and gives good analysis on TV shows, but he is an unhinged raving lunatic with a calm even voice after pretty much every race Ive ever seen except the one he won.
I would probably vote him most likely to actually show up to someone's house to try and 'whup their aaiiss' rather than it just being all talk and bluster with the rest of the rednecks.

Thank God for the Boris Saids in NASCAR. The race would be no news if it wasn't for him...
