That would be 1 straight and 11 out of the last 17, if you were indeed speaking about the good guys. Bama might be able to be considered "the good guys" if they were going up against Al Qaeda.

MIGHT!

Bama = good guys who have won 4 straight and 5 of the last 6. Soon to be 5 straight and 6 of the last 7. Tenn = cheaters on self imposed probation who (according to Dooley) dont bathe themselves properly.

If you throw out the games from '95 -''01, as well as '03, '04 and '06, then Alabama is undefeated against Tennessee for the past 26 years.

I finally had a chance to read the article Hack? posted for UT's self -imposed punishment...Only if you were tOSU or ND would you get off that easy.

Two years of probation, which will require UT to send annual compliance reports to the NCAA and the SEC.

OK. Are you going to hire a new typist to fill those out or call Fred's Temp Service so you don't have to pay her benefits?

The men’s basketball staff is not permitted to provide occasional off-campus meals during the 2011-12 academic year.

Off campus meals to whom? Recruits? Recruits parents? Other staff members? Are you at least forcing someone to eat peanut butter and jelly on day old bread instead of a steak prepared on campus?

On Nov. 1, the first day of the November 2011 contact period, only 50 percent of the football staff can make recruiting telephone calls to prospective student athletes.

Your kidding. For one whole day, your going to force some guys to do other things at work while half of them go man the phones. Or half of them man cell phones while the ones who can't call go to the office phone of the ones who CAN call. For ONE DAY. Just wondering if you thought of a reduction in the number of permissible calls?

During the Spring 2011 evaluation period, the football staff had its permissible recruiting days reduced from 168 to 162.

Words cannot describe my laughter at this description of a "penalty", but I'll try.... BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

No, I just have a feeling UT should have used a little larger knife to fall on. I actually hope that's all that comes of the BS y'all are dealing with re the NCAA. You were blessed with shit fer brains leaving to go west, and Pearl's transgressions were more of the stupid type than true "advantage on the field" stuff. But I doubt those will appease the blood lords in Indy.

Well, GBJ. That is your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it. I'm not sure we need a larger knife or why. I really don't feel as if they are going to do to us anything worse than this, or at least not much worse. I haven't read the article, yet. Are we going to give up a scholarship or two during this self imposed probation period? If so, then I'm thinking we are doing roughly the same as what the NCAA would've done to us. If not, they may make us give up some scholies.

I'm not ready to label what is happening BS. The fact of the matter is we did it. Yeah, we had two shit brain coaches do it for us. Both were told to stop and one flat out lied about it (and was fired for it). Plus, our AD left over all of this. The NCAA knows this so it's got to help. The wild card in all of this (in my feeble mind anyway) is: when we found out Kiffen was still doing his violations, what was UT going to do to punish Kiffen? Recall Kiffen had been busted, multiple times if I recall correctly, for recruiting violations earlier in the year/season. Toward the end of the season, it was shown he was still having problems and told to stop. If it can be shown we weren't going to do anything beyond telling him to stop and/or if we don't have documentation to back up any punishment, then we could be in trouble. That's like someone caught shoplifting multiple times, told to stop each time by the police, but never actually put under arrest. Telling them to stop isn't enough. That's what worries me.

I'd like to think we all do fair and can all play on an even playing field. It's not fun for either of us, as fans, if the other team is serving a death sentence. One team might as well not show up for the game the moral of the players will be destroyed such. It's just not fun to play under those circumstances. But if a school deserves it, even my beloved UT, then they deserve it.

Time will tell.

No OF... no voluntary scholly loss. Only those things I have in italics above. The article says those are "additional" punishments in addition to items already imposed.

Now I don't know what UT had previously imposed upon itself, but the worst of those four things are a one day slow down of basketball coaches making telephone calls.

I have little ire for Pearl's transgressions, he would have been OK had he not lied about them. Kifenineninenin appeared as a shit head, win at all costs, no apparent concern for the student or the rules type.

Remember how many coaches from the DuBose staff were at UA when we were handed our sanctions in '02?
