so I have a Nissan frontier 2007 180K miles on it never had a tuneup which are almost obsolete I hear-plugs and wires with lifetime guarentees--any trouble just pull the codes
not like the old days when you changed plugs wirres, distributor cap set the timing by ear etc all for 50 bucks in parts
developed a idling miss which bogged down things --had a feeling it was plug but knew I couldn't change them brought them to my local garage who's had my business and treated me well for 5 years
#1 cylinder is the issue not firing right --have drop the intake manifold 450 bucks to change the plugs and wires
cars might last longer but geezus to do anything routine costs you an arm and leg

I'm looking for 90's Toyota truck. Preferably with a 22RE.
Part of the reason is I want to be able to keep it running.

that's the downside of those 90's toyotas - they rust badly - toyota had a recall and a class action lawsuit on them it was so bad

Growing up, my dad bought a Grand Marquis every odd year from 1969-1985 when he died. The ones from the 70's were badass

That looks like what Jock Ewing drove...

"TOTALLY interested in understanding the story of Black Hop Sing."
"Sutree followed. They stood in the kitchen. Suttree looked about. The walls were hung with pictures, the pictureglass all dull with grease. He bent to study a clan of blacks, some thirty or more all formally aligned, old patriarchs and men and women and small children peering out and in the center seated and shawled what appeared to be a scorched rhesus monkey.
She was standing across the room and the light was poor and she could not have rightly known which photographs among the many he was looking at and yet she said: She was born in seventeen and eighty seven.
Who is she?
My grandmama. She was a hunnerd and two when she died.
She looks almost that old in the picture.
She's dead in the picture."

Some of those little white boys look like girls. Ugly girls but still girls.

Michael Landon was asked if the Cartwright brothers on Bonanza were gay by Johnny Carson. Landon's reply: "No, I want to lay this rumor to rest. The Cartwright men were not gay. Thank God Hop Sing was!"

a little history here - my daughter has been playing lacrosse since the second grade , started varsity as a freshmen and is now in the 3rd game of her junior year with a team that lost 7 seniors and only has 3 this year.
So I expected her to step up this year and be a leader on the team. We talked about it in the off season and she was excited about it. Developed a training program in the fall for the girls.
But now she hates the coach, thinks he's an idiot (he makes them watch game film of his daughter who was a senior last year and now plays on some D3 team in Iowa) and it shows in her games. She doesn't try, half asses at everything and is generally a much worse player than she was the year before.
last night was 3rd game into the season and its come to the point where the team would actually be better off without her on the field - she dropped every pass she received, made two passes that were uncatcheable (is that a word?) and just stood around watching other girls go after loose balls.
Used to be after the game she'd get in the car and ask me how she did, then ask me what she could improve on and then we'd work on it during the week.
This year its fuck all that, I don't have time, I don't want to be out there and the only reason I'm playing is to be able to say it on a college application.
Its frustrating for me. I've been dragging my ass to these practices and games 9 years now, and the year when this is all supposed to come together and she emerges as a leader on the team, she fucking tanks
Being that she is a girl, I can't talk to her like the boy (or god forbid run laps) so last night we had a text conversation. Yes...even though we were in the same house, we texted each other.
so I actually asked the boy - hey , how should I handle this and he was like "I don't know" and then wanted to talk about some stupid shit on youtube so I had to shut that down.
She thinks I'm all about her scoring goals and looking good for a college recruiter - and that isn't it at all, I'm trying to tell her she's part of a team and she has an obligation to the team to be the best player she can be, leave it all on the field - all the standard sports cliches'. They have played 3 games this year and have lost by more than 10 points in all 3 games. Not 10 points combined...10 points in every game. That shit worked on me when I was in high school. I'd would have run thru walls for my horrible little podunk baseball team with a sadist coach.
My inclination is to just tell her to quit, but that sets a tone that she can just quit whenever a situation is shitty - plus, I already volunteered as the guy who video tapes the games so I have to watch this train wreck anyways.

Offer to pay her for every goal (or assist) she scores...
