apparently a woman was abducted from the corner gas station about a mile from my house - about a 1/4 mile from the high school where my daughter walks home everyday.
She was walking to or from the gas station - why I'm not sure - she must live close by because she isn't transient and is a care taker for her mother that has dementia. At this point I don't think drugs or anything else is suspected.
There is an apartment complex next to the gas station that has some iffy characters and there is woods surrounding the gas station.
I hope the woman is OK, but if she isn't, I hope whoever harmed her didn't abduct her from the gas station or anywhere near my home. They are organizing volunteers to search tomorrow. I think I may take my dog and search those woods. For some reason I've always thought that something bad is going to happen in those woods because of that apartment complex

I haven't been back since mom moved in 2007. The idiot that bought the home I grew up in, the house my dad built and is buried in a plot overlooking it, painted every room pink and put playboy bunny logos on the walls. I have no desire to see that town again.

From how you post it sounds like you still live pretty close to where you grew up.
For me, you can never go home again

Me? I live almost directly across the street from where I grew up. Still see my dad almost every day...

Stu lives less than a mile from me, but his wife has forbidden him to see me. Or anyone else, except the bootleg milkman...

I live in the house I grew up in. Love it. But after I rehab it I'm gonna sell it after a year. Time to move on.

I work at night. Hedge works during the day. He refuses to come over to my house yet I've visited him more recently that he has me. Visiting him means sitting on the couch (if you can get a dog to move over) in that musty parlor and watching him click from channel to channel.

I have visited Stu's place far more than he has visited mine. I went over to his house one night and we were listening to Grateful Dead in my car, within 5 minutes his wife came out there to see what was going on. I think he told me she accused him of smoking weed...

I do believe Stu is kept on a short leash.
He's pretty bitter about life.

Sometimes when your wife doesn't work it tilts the balance of power your way, sometimes it tilts it in hers. Sounds like Stu's wife knows how to play the Game of Thrones.

last Thursday I was standing in line at McD's and a cop was behind me so I asked him - hey , any information about that woman that was last seen at the UDF? He was like - she left the scene of a crash, we aren't treating it as an abduction. He finished our conversation by saying "in cases like this there is always more to the story"
but nothing is heard about her, her friends are organizing search parties, etc., so I think ok, maybe she wrecked her car and ran off, was hit by a car and is laying in a ditch or something - so I start looking at her facebook page and I see that she has a drinking buddy that lives in our town. So I google his address, and the guy lives like a 1/3 of a mile from where she was last seen. So its pretty clear to me where she ran (literally) to when she left the scene of an accident.
since then more information has come out about that woman I mentioned a few days ago.
so what no one said was a few days before her disappearance she was indicted on felony breaking and entering.
didn't show up for court and had a bench warrant out for her.
gets drunk with the guy I see on facebook, wrecks her car and realizes if the police show up shes going to jail, do not pass go and I would assume, since she has no job or home, won't be making bail. The guy stayed at the scene to assist the person she hit, but its pretty clear there was no abduction and this woman is just hiding out trying to figure out a way to avoid jail.
This all could have been told to the general public to avoid all this missing person horseshit we have had to worry about.

So, you should ride around your neighborhood with a bullhorn and let everyone know that nobody was kidnapped but instead you have a drunken lout thief slut neighbor (I just threw in the slut part for good measure) and to go back to doing what they were doing.
