Loaning? More like funding. You need the US involved in wars, constantly, so the military industrial complex gets fed. We can protect our interests for far less than what we are spending now.
Reducing military spending and involvement in the world is, now, a right wing position. It's the left, now, that wants to feed the military beast now because it is doing it's bidding. When Tree realizes that, he'll be pro-military spending...

The money has already been spent and will continue to be spent, year after year after year, on national "defense," no matter what bullshit caterwauling chatroom geniuses (or anybody else) from either party or political affiliation think or say about it. It's a fact, like gravity. Given that, why no use it for something that actually does advance our national interests? And crushing Putin and Russia, or at the very least exposing them as a 3rd rate "power" very much does that. And we're doing it for pennies on the dollar and no US troops. Only fools think this is a bad idea...

The 'D' next to his name was the only thing they cared about, correct.
I think this whole war situation in Ukraine is sad and ridiculous. I am happy that no US troops are there. I am happy that Ukraine (while not winning) appears to be holding their own in some capacity. But I really wish I understood specifically why this war had to be fought and what the ultimate goal is for Russia. One year in, I still don't see it.

Last time we started building an empire, we controlled the Philippines. Look how that turned out for us? Our troops who were garrisoned there protecting our "empire" starved to death on the Bataan death march.
