I heard he bet all his worldy goods on Bama to beat Ole Miss.

We're taking up a collection for him to catch a Greyhound from Vegas back to Six Toe.

Damn. Just when we thought Bammer was a notch or two below their usual dynasty mode they shut down LSU like they were Vanderbilt. The Sabanator is still the master of the Dark Side and UF gets 4 weeks to contemplate it's ass-raping. Thank you Nick, may we have another!

Bama will almost always (as long as they have Saban) crush I formation teams like LSU and UGA.

Ole Miss etc will continue to give them trouble.

Bet the farm on mIss state this weekend at +7.5

Correct. Smart hasn't figured out the spread option. Auburn racked up over 600 yards against him last year.

It's less about "knowing how" and more about having a secondary that gets lost - esprcially on pop passes. That's why you see at least three true freshmen getting starts and significant playing time this year.

Our secondary has been a liability in years' past. I actually like this year's defense third behind 2009 and 2011. Minkah and Marlon, while young bucks, have played above their years. The front 7 is as solid as ever.

Re: Ole Miss. It's not a game we shoulda lost. 5 turnovers and a pass on 3rd down, that shoulda been a sack, but a desperation heave that bounces off headgear, goes 40 yards in the air and lands in the waiting arms of an Ole Miss receiver who runs it in...it's just one of those games...

Who do you think Bama will face in the playoffs? A rematch against tOSUc?

You did the hard part beating up LSU. You can rest your starters against Auburn and Florida.

I think it's likely we lose along the way. Mississippi State, Auburn, and Florida will all give us problems. With two of those on the road and the last one a neutral site game, the likelihood of beating all three is somewhere around 15%.

One of the things we've done that's improved our secondary is to ignore linemen downfield on passes. The SEC won't call it at less than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage, usually. So teaching DBs to converge on the ball when o-linemen reach the second level is counterproductive (the NCAA rule is 3 yards).

And in perfect Saban fashion, we've started teaching our own o-linemen to block downfield on passes.

I don't think either Auburn or Florida are anywhere near Bama's level right now.

LSU was, but now isn't.

Fatigue, LSU was physical (several banged up Bama players), going to Starkville after an emotional high of playing LSU, Miss State with a couple of extra days to prepare...both Miss State and Auburn playing us at their homes. Florida will be jacked up for their return to Atlanta after several years...

It's not an easy road...and who "should" win means nothing (See: Bama vs Ole Miss, 2015).

That Ole Miss game might've been fixed, you can hear the announcers says "it's a high snap" before the center even snaps the ball...

The master is getting back on his game. UF OLine will do nothing to the Tide D - Taylor will be lucky to get positive yards, Harris will be running for his life on the snap, and the successive 3-and-outs will wear UF's defense down to mush. Still it will be nice to be back in Atlanta.

Coach Mc will have a solid plan. Yeah, the last time Florida was in Atlanta, Urban was the coach and Tebow was the QB.
