In 2007, Steele predicted that BC would finish 6th out of six teams in the Atlantic division. Fair.
Here is a well known fact, those publications are not in the business of predicting anything with any accuracy. They are in the business of selling more magazines. You don't sell college football speculation/predition magazines by being accurate. You sell them by saying the schools with the largest fan bases (largest numbers of potential buyers) are the ones to win the divisions, conferences, and championships. That is how they sell.
You tell the largest number of people possible, what they want to hear. That, they buy.

You're right. If some magazine came out with a prediction that you would be brutally murdered within the next 3 months, I would buy it. Even if it wasn't true (although I pray it is), I'd still buy it, just to see those beautiful words in print: "IB will be brutally murdered within the next 3 months". Shit, that would be a bestseller....

Yet, say their predictions were spot on. Guess who's buying their mag next season? Everyone. That's why they do it ya stupid yahoo. You can't really be this stupid.

Renner wasn't the same after that hit. The back up rb's were more than adequate, but the team missed Bernard's versatility. Yet again, Carolina lost the game due to an inability to score crucial td's in the red zone and committed some key defense penalties on a crucial drive.
This is Carolina football.

check the hoops thread. too bad Tyler had to find out that Santa, the Easter Bunny, and tooth fairy aren't real and that his mom is a skanky Ho all in the same year.

Talk about it here, Auggie.
So what if the woman declared bankruptcy? Plenty of people declare bankruptcy and obtain high paying positions afterwards.
She was hired for a position that became open long after Tyler had decided to returned. She was hired during his senior season. The NCAA knew about it. The NCAA did nothing except approve her travel to Tyler's games. What's the big deal?

the NCAA allowing U*NC to do anything it wants is hardly an indication that the behavior is OK.
you know as well as I do that university positions aren't created over night. U*NC could have easily known that the fund raising position would be open for months if not a year. Tylers mom has a bachelors degree from a podunk university in Missouri and did some minor fund-raising for a couple of years in the mid-west. median salary for a major gifts officer-higher ed position in Raleigh is $57 k yet Tami gets hired for over $95k? She is in no way shape or form qualified for that job at that pay rate. So why was she hired? I dont think she was banging Kopec yet so what else could it be? Oh, that's right her all-american basketball playing son has to make a decision whether to go pro or return for his senior year. Maybe Tyler doesn't need the money, he'll be ok whether he stays or goes, but maybe he want's to make sure Mom is ok, and here's this sweet job that will open up in the fall, and all he has to do is go ahead and come back to win his Natty, and everybody is happy. Plus mommy gets to see Tyler play ball for free with her shiny new boyfriend. Offering a job to a parent for the purpose of enticing an athlete to play sports if an obvious, major ncaa violation. Even the N&O, at the time a U*NC lapdog, questioned the appropriateness of the hire. I don't care that U*NC hired a gold-digging slut in it's fundraising department, but if it gives you an unfair advantage on the court then that is a problem. Suppose State offers Julius Randle's momma a job, and he ends up at State, are you telling me that school that ran crying to the ncaa over a pick up game in socks wouldn't freak out about that?
Fwiw, Kupec didn't get fired for banging Tyler mom. The dude raised over a billion dollars for U*NC. You don't fire a guy like that over some trips and tickets. Especially after letting Butch hang around for almost two seasons, paying him $2.7 mil, and letting Nag'aro(sp) "retire".
