AA - hows the Marriot on Canal? I think I stayed there in the late 80's for a FSU/Aubarn Sugar Bowl but thats been too long ago to remember.

I called Harrah's w/ my little Total Rewards Card (fuckin Vegas) thinking I'd get me a deal and the best the girl would do was from $409 to 389 a nite - I'm not paying that with so many good hotels nearby. But the Marriot was the place she tried to send me - sister hotel or some such.

A brief review would be nice!

Cut to the real question Doc.

AA, what's your opinion of the buffet at the Marriot on Canal?

Which Marriott on Canal? There is a JW and a regular Marriott. They are almost accross the street from each other.

Well - damn - I dont know the answer to that.

Am probably just gonna go w/ the Hilton or W - those are our old standbys.

The big decision now will be where to eat - some old favorites or try something new?

Rat - stfu

AA - thanks anyways

The only correct answer is Priceline.

The big Marriott is technically in the Quarter. The JW is on the across Canal from there.

I like them both. Neat elevators at the big Marriott. Confuses the Hell outta the drunks. Heh.

Which one is on the opposite side of the Sheraton?

And of course I am using Priceline.

The regular Marriott. The JW is on the same side as the Sheraton.

Does Priceline allow you to cancel and/or shorten your stay without charging all of or a large part of the nightly rate?

As a general rule, no. You can buy travel insurance with them, but it has limitations.

But at 70% off, or so, the risk of a cancellation or a shortaned stay still nets you money in the long run.

I've never received that big of a discount. I can get 50% usually, but every time I go for more than that, I get rejected.
