To be fair, some friends of our took their kid (my son's friend) there (the one in Fla.) and said it was pretty awesome. They don't really do Harry Potter outside of it being their kid's interest so I took them at their word.

the Universal Studios thing is pretty cool. It's full immersion into Harry Potter world.

Given the fact there are only 52 GOP senators, should the three of them band together against any legislative effort by Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to offer only a partial repeal, as they suggest they will, they would likely doom such an effort in the U.S. Senate. It is highly unlikely Democrats would support even partial repeal of the former president’s healthcare law.

“We expect a full repeal of Obamacare and will not accept anything less,” a Senate GOP aide familiar with the efforts by Paul, Cruz, and Lee said late Monday when reached by Breitbart News. “Anything less is dead on arrival.”

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government ... ign=buffer

sometimes I wonder if this isn't all orchestrated.

Those 3 may hold firm for gridlock that means nothing will happen and every GOP member gets to blame everyone else for not letting them do what needs to be done....when the reality is they know if they did do something, it could be a huge disaster that costs them the election down the road.

Cruz and Paul kind of staked their presidential runs on this sort of thing hoping to gain favor with the general public as being hardcore conservatives. It was successful to a degree but they played their hand wrong defining themselves as outsiders instead of "true" conservatives. In the end, Trump sucked all the oxygen from their campaigns so I doubt either approach would have worked.

Trump promised 3 things

kids stay on until 26
no pre-existing conditions
no mandate

The math doesn't add up

Obamacare isn't working
Trumpcare isn't possible
Gridlock is the only option

I wouldn't be surprised to see them let Obamacare fail and then deliver some shit emergency solution

No repeal is going to meet the criteria Trump promised and lower costs. I just don't think its mathematically possible.

Speaking of Retiring to Mountains...

Later this year, at the ages of 38 and 41, the couple behind OurNextLife.com will be quitting the stressful, time-consuming jobs that they’ve held for most of their adult lives and will be retiring to a life in the mountains.

This is particularly interesting to me because one of my dreams is to live on the side of the mountain and get a part-time ski patrol job. Because really, what could be better than waking up early after a big snowfall, grabbing a cup of coffee with your buddies, then strapping on your skis and heading up the mountain to throw bombs and trigger avalanches?

It was actually the Our Next Life Instagram feed that prompted me and Jill to start talking about making that mountain dream a reality within the next ~5 years.

people need to face the consequences of their lifestyles

if you have advanced lung disease/liver disease/heart disease/cancer there comes a point where the government needs to quit paying your medical bills

that's the only way costs can be controlled and I really don't know why we continue to dick around thinking the government should pay so that you can smoke or eat to gain 20 more pounds another 6 months with your lung cancer or heart disease or uncontrolled diabetes

so your ok using your tax dollars to pay for the medical care of somebody who refuses to help themselves

at the risk your kids are left holding the bag and getting nothing because its completely bankrupt 20 years from now

I will be heartless if it helps my kids

and before you say it I tell my kids the same thing. don't be depending on the government tit--you need to live right and tak care of yourselves

I'm getting fucking tired of receiving all these retirement home and assisted living geriatric horseshit in the mail. Fucking AARP has sold my name to every group trying to get me to pay someone to wipe my ass and feed me applesauce.

Fucking asshats

My brother, who plays golf a few times a week and takes a lot of vacations, was talking to my dad today and he said "I've got to go to work" and my dad said "What, did you get a new job?"

You're speaking directly to Trump's base.

Fuck it, if I get cancer, I just want some good drugs to ease my way out the door. I know I've lived wrongly and don't want to be one of these assholes walking around with a shitbag on my side or an oxygen tank.

But I don't want to die from a fucking cold or an infection because I couldn't go see the doctor at all unless I wanted to miss 2-3 mortgate payments.

"Come," I said, with decision, "we will go back; your health is precious. You are rich, respected, admired, beloved; you are happy, as once I was. You are a man to be missed. For me it is no matter. We will go back; you will be ill, and I cannot be responsible. Besides, there is Luchresi --"

"Enough," he said; "the cough's a mere nothing; it will not kill me. I shall not die of a cough."

"True --true,"
