I'm not going to lie, I never could watch GFIII but about 12 years ago the wife and I (before marriage and kids) did a whole weekend lounging around in states of undress and eating pizza watching the trilogy. GFIII worked okay in that scenario. I can watch either of the first two as stand alones, but #3 has only been successfully achieved paired with the first two in a marathon session.

LOL at Owlman's modified Ebert rating system. I kinda like it.

IMAX
Evening Big Screen
Matinee Big Screen
General Matinee
Bootleg
Redbox
Netflix Stream
Bit Torrent
HBO

(my guess)

Indy was part of the story, even if he didn't save the day at the end. It was still a good story.

Kinda like War of the Worlds. Tom Cruise just stayed alive until bacteria killed the aliens.

At least it's not "Signs" - which is the worst popular movie of all time.

1. Aliens want to invade a world. So, they choose a world that is covered in water and has water in its air, and the story revolves around a farm with irrigation systems.
2. By the way, water burns the aliens like acid.
3. They arrive naked.
4. The aliens are advanced enough to travel from their home world, but have no protective suit, no weapon except for a poof of semi-toxic poison they fart outta their wrists, and their communications can be picked up on a KMart baby monitor.
5. These advanced aliens also have trouble getting into a wooden house that's boarded or outta a locked pantry.
6. German Shepherds do NOT attack their owners because they sense a predator close by.
7. The thought that God would set-up this elaborate scheme to have a sleepy vet kill Mel Gibson's wife so that she could say "swing away" and have split lip knock over water glasses and kill aliens so that an apostate preacher could regain his faith is beyond silly - even for the the judeo-Christian god mythology.

I'll never forget leaving the theater after "Signs" - some people were crying they were so moved and most loved it. I just kept shaking my head and repeating, "Are you fucking kidding me?"

Thankfully I've never seen signs. The Big Bang was a good one though. Good show.

Just started watching "Sons of Anarchy" on netflix. It's not very realistic but entertaining. Mostly I marvel over how well Peg Bundy and her knockers are aging.

Signs forced me to really look at M. Night and it came to light that as his movies did better and better, he wound up with more creative control. The Sixth Sense was changed from its original version and those changes were not generated by M Night.

He's an idiot who thinks of really good ideas that turn stupid as he fleshes out a whole script. He's like an SNL writer.
