94% of people in Commonwealth of Massachusetts already had health insurance long before Gov Romney came along. Romneycare wasn't about trying to hurt business. Romneycare was all about trying to financially hurt young, childless, bachelors. It was a bachelor tax, nothing else. Its a tax to be paid by young bachelors who already know that they will never go to the doctor (so they don't get health insurance) so they have to pay it as a penalty to the state.eCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 11:53 am Romney isn't nsmall government. A small government guy isn't going to develop health care in the state of Massachusetts that requires every resident to have health insurance and impose penalties on small business if they don't require it.
If that's True republican then, yea, nobody wants them.
The way health insurance companies work with HR departments is simple: you want a super cheap rate, super cheap premiums for your staff, get all the young bachelors to sign up. Health insurance companies like to collect premiums from people who never put in claims. Its that simple. If you get enough people into the pool who never put in a claim, then you can give that company cheaper premiums to all its employees (even the ones who put in massive claims.)Jungle Rat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 7:12 pm The cards have been stacked against you all your life huh?

Now, expand that mathematical health care calculus to the state level and you can understand Romneycare. Expand to the federal level and you get Obamacare. Its all about trying to make health care premiums as cheap as possible for women and family men at the EXPENSE of young, childless, bachelors.
Not rocket science.
Of course that's a true Republican. It's a corporate windfall, which is what the Repubs stand for. The sad part is that Obama gave us that on a national level because he's right of center as well.eCat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 11:53 am Romney isn't nsmall government.
