Those idiots deserved to get banned. Hilariously, i found out that one of the webcomic artists I used to follow, but had to unfollow because he made my feed look like this trash thread, was one of the first to get caught up in it.

The werent “creating parody comedy accounts” (which Twitter has always had a shitload of), the problem is they all had Verfied tag blue checks which verify them as the person they say they are. The whole point is for people to know thats the real person and for the real person to know that they are identified to others. Twitter (old twitter) jumped through hoops to give these people on the platform to show they were accounts affiliated with real people or companies, and they abused it just for a couple jokes about Elon Musk. They would have gotten suspended no matter who was the target (and people have in the past).

These people got pissed based on political BS, didnt want to pay for the tag in the future, and so they threw it and their accounts in the trash. And now they want to act aggrieved about it to score some extra points after the fact too. Fuck them, they knew what they were doing, and they know that turning their "Verified" account randomly into a comedy parody one of someone else wasn't going to fly.

I've followed Musk for years on twitter (along with several other aerospace/NASA/astronomy related accounts), and its hilarious to me how similar the reaction to him now mirrors something like a baseball player who was with the Yankees signing as a free agent for the Red Sox or something like that (similar to the turn Donald Trump himself went on 8 years ago or so). This guy was beloved by liberals. They ignored that he was a billionaire because he was their billionaire who was making all the electric cars that were going to save us from ourselves. They all politely chuckled and at most gossiped about his celebrity girlfriends, and what he named his kids or whatever. The right, meanwhile, loved to trash him, presumably because he was the personification of the electric car industry and therefore was on the other side. Teslas were the mark of evil liberalism. Hilarious. Now both sides completely flip their take on him. The right is like, "haha, he's our asshole now!" and the left is losing their goddamned mind about him. If your opinion of Elon Musk has changed in the last year or two, it is likely you're a fucking moron who just regurgitates whatever political bullshit gets broadcasted to you, or a political fanboy with no credibility.

I thought Musk was pretty funny hosting SNL a year or two ago. That's the only opinion I've ever had of him. I am kinda amused at him getting abused on twitter though...

People are trying to act like they got banned for “comedy” or “making fun of Musk” but they’re getting banned for abusing “Verified” accounts, something that THEY THEMSELVES SIGNED UP FOR TO HELP PROTECT AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE FROM SIGNING UP AND IMPERSONATING THEM.

If theres going to be “verified accounts” then those people obviously cant just switch their accounts to impersonate someone else. They’re being obtuse dicks, not comedians.

we should NOT have lettuce picking jobs in the United States. Mechanize. The "job" should be maintaining and updating the robot/machine to harvest the lettuce.

The ONLY reason why lettuce farmers do not spend big bucks to automate the harvesting process is because Juan-the-illegal-alien is hanging around the Home Depot sign just waiting to be picked up for the day to do the work.

Lettuce, like many types of produce, has to be picked by hand because the human is needed to look to see / feel / check if the item should be picked / cut / left for future harvest / culled. A machine can’t do that as effectively. Maybe there will be a machine that can do the same and beat cost effective in the future, but we are far from that point as of now.
