The "small government" talking point is nothing more than propaganda for the rubes to agree to give everything to the billionaires and big corporations. Even Milton Friedman who proposed the type of cut throat capitalism the right wants, said that we would need strong safety nets to make it work.

And if you want balanced budgets the answer is to stop voting for politicians who give trillions away to the rich and continue to wage war around the globe in order to build empire.

we're getting closer to the day when candidates running will reject both parties outright, I mean we have them now but they think the answer is to be extremists at both ends of the spectrum

but there will be a day soon when moderates who refuse to take impactful life altering positions and just want to focus on day to day government take to the front because both sides fear the extremists in power.

We have that now. We already saw Ted Cruz, the biggest billionaire shill in government, pretending to be an angry populist in 2016. Same for Paul Ryan, etc. These people are conmen, idiots and thieves but they do have their fingers on the pulse of America.
