Just checked, both SMU and TCU are on Spring Break the week we are there so... no campus tours I'm afraid. I am making the assumption that A&M is also on Spring Break that week.

F-it. Maybe I should just get up and 3AM and drive the daughter to Galveston and we could be sitting on the beach early in the morning?

I wonder how many abortions your daughter will have. If she's already talking about college, then she's probably had at least one already. I'll put the O/U on 3.5.

Buc-ee's are travel centers. Like 60,000 SF convenience store with like 100 gas pumps and like 50 stalls in each bathroom. They are more on the major highways between cities than in town. Closest one to Dallas is in Terrell on I-20 headed towards/from Shreveport.

Considering IB's views on the 19th amendment and educated women in general, I'm floored that he's using 'daughter' and 'college' in the same sentence.

actually, his whole procreation scenario has me floored

He could send her to a place like Bob Jones or BYU and guarantee that she'll get zero education and end up as nothing more than a breeder for her adult life.

Its only 4 hours to Galveston by car. That is a real long drive for just a day trip.

That is not how I want to get my daughter started out in life. That would be more of an ending point... actually.

A co-worker of mine told me that if I do nothing else in Dallas, I must eat lunch or dinner at the Pecan Lodge. Have anything on the menu, the best barbeque in the state of Texas. That is saying a lot given that Texas and barbeque are basically synonyms.

ECU? How did East Carolina enter this discussion?

A former manager of mine got his degree from Appy-State. He was telling me all about the wonderful world of North Carolina higher education (starting at the top at UNC and Duke, to Wake Forest, to NCState, to Appy State, all of it.) And then he finally got around to the Pirates of ECU. He called that school a.... party school. That could mean a lot but he didn't get into the details. It wasn't until I actually met an ECU grad and he calmly explained to me WHY it was a party school (the male to female ratio and the types of girls who attended ECU.)

Cletus said my daughter wouldn't learn anything at UC-Provo or Bob Jones. She's be studying to be a "breeder." In that sense (assuming Cletus isn't full of shit, even though I know he is), I suppose the education towards one's MRS degree at Bob Jones or UC-Provo would be the equivalent of what a girl gets at ECU.

Use Love Field if you have a choice.
